Hi all,
I was reading a baby book last night that mentioned in passing that there was no need to sterilise after six months. Is this right?
I've been wondering about the strangeness of sterilising the bottles once the baby gets to the stage of shoving everything into its mouth. It does seem to be a bit of a wasted effort.
Funnily enough I was reading something similar last night.
The theory is that you still need to wash everything (like you would dishes) but that once kiddies are putting everything under the sun in their mouths then there is very little point putting in the effort to sterilise things.
Having said that - I think that if I were using bottles etc I would probably still sterilise them just to be on the safe side.
I was still sterilising bottles when my DS was 18 months old! I suppose it was just habit. Don't sterilise his anymore as I know have my DD's bottles to do.
I'm in the habit of sterilising now and I really don't want her to get sick. I was just surprised to read this because I hadn't read it anywhere else and it was just mentioned in passing, like it was no big deal and everyone knew it anyway.
