there are places that do cardboard - they come and give you a big stand and a hessian sack and then collect it.
I can't remember their names though, we used to use them at work (most restaurants have them) you can ring the garbage collectors and they should be able to give you number.

We actually have a company that comes and collects cardboard from our work (in the hessian sack like you mentioned) and I completely forgot about them! I've sent them an email to see if they will collect from a residential address on a single occasion. I hope they say yes!
Unfortunately they are boxes that I don't think anyone would want. Half of them have been cut up already, and even the ones that are still intact are just second hand boxes that I took from work after we emptied out our deliveries.
Unfortunately the company I emailed won't come out to collect it, so it looks like we'll have to organise a trailer and take it to the local recycling plant ourselves. Oh well...
