And the bounty isnt a bad thing... Saves baiting which is worse, three days to kill an animal and then the added risk of other animals consumeing said bait if its dropped too.

I assume that the government on sells the scalps, otherwise why would they be so particular about the way that the animal is skinned? Or is it for identification purposes?
As for hanging the animals on the fence, I I don't see how it is the shooters responsibility to kill AND dispose of other people's vermin.

They request for the fox to be scalped because years ago the bounty was for fox tails. So changing the bounty to scalps ensures sporting shooters are getting new foxes and not handing over old ones so to speak.

I think seeing the foxes hanging you can see the fluxastion in population, and which paddocs are the lambing/calving ones.

Its interesting that farmers cant shoot wild dogs but deer hunters can for bounty prupuses.

I was told by a hunter they wanted the scalp as it means the fox is dead, as the tail can be taken but the fox still alive

Also, by limiting it to either/or there is no chance of the bounty being collected twice for one animal.
