    Question Garden Blower Vac

DH has a birthday coming up very soon and he's said he'd like a blower vac. That suggestion came out of the blue. He's normally fairly fussy with his tools, gadgets etc, so much so that I normally get him to give me specific make and model details then I'll go and buy it, however it would be nice to do it myself this time; and he'll just have to like what I get him

I haven't looked at these at all yet as I haven't had time, but now DH is back at work I hope to get out and have a look but would like some help starting off if anyone has any feedback from experience.

What sort do you have? Are you happy with it? Is there anything that you are unhappy about?

Or perhaps they are all pretty much the same in that you plug it in and turn it on?

could I suggest telling him to take a REALLY big breath and blow?

We have an arlec one which is electric. DH say's "It's ok" with a funny look on his face. I take that as it's ok but there's better. Does that help?

MG. That would work for the blower part, but if he wanted to vacuum ??

Loula, we've had electric whipper snipper which he's just replaced with a petrol one so I guess that also suggests a petrol blower vac would be his choice. More $$ but if it's going to last (ie, he wont go out and buy a replacement for what I got him).

There is something about the impeller. I 'think' a wire impeller is good because if you accidently suck up a stone it doesn't trash it. Most are plastic and break easily. Dad hunted high and low and finally found one......... Its a Flymo GV750S. I just rang and asked.

Wow, thank you Junglemum. I'll start looking into the Flymo.

MG So long as you accompany DD but we'll supervise - maybe with a drink in hand. Sorry to have caused more going to bed issues
