    Moving for climate reasons

So Perth is very marginal in an environmental sense. Also economically when you consider how unsustainable the resources sector is.
Which leads me to consider that relocation might be a good idea to establish my kids somewhere with better long-term prospects.

Have you ever thought along these lines?
Is there anywhere in particular you think holds particular promise? Dh says Christchurch, but I'd rather not go somewhere we're likely to be swallowed up by the earth.

Christchurch is good if you are in the building trade. Has cheap real estate atm too...

I guess it would depend on what industry you and your husband work in, wherever you move to needs to have jobs for you now as well as having potential for the future.

The Sunshine and Gold Coast hinterlands are lovely. It's too hot for me but if you're not sunshine phobic they are too high to be in the path of a tsunami or rising sea levels, there isn't much seismic activity and the land is relatively fertile and gets more rain than inland areas.

Alaska might be nice. Tasmania seems to be full of scenic beauty and wilderness if you can get over the Deliverance vibe.
