Next march we're upping stumps and moving to 3/4 of a acer in north east Victoria which has a chicken shed. (pointless add but...it should help with the vegi's i guess?)
I'm looking at buying The Kitchen Garden Companion: Dig, Plant, Water, Grow, Harvest, Chop, Cook By Stephanie Alexander
and i wanted to know if it was any good? mainly as my amount of understanding of growing vegi's past coli and brocoli and the odd degranged carrot. and a mutant corn is well, none! there is also some already matrue (??) fruit trees that i'd like to know how to use any excess fruit we have so over time we can become more and more self reliant KWIM?
is this book a good place to start or is there others? i guess i want to *try* and read up on things now so i when we move i can kind of just 'throw' myself into it.
also what are some 'fail safe' vegis to plant that dont need to be re-planted each year? as i'd like to have a few 'constant' or near enough to vegies there and ready to be munched on by us!
