    Who grows their own sprouts?

The sprouts in the shops never taste 100% fresh so I want to grow my own.
I know you can buy the sprouting tubes and bags but I was hoping I could do it in an old jar or something.

I'm busy googling but I would love some advice from real people.

Onyx, I was looking at the kits you can buy from Bunnings and places like that... It has everything you need in there... And doesnt cost too much.

A friend of mine said she did that and it grew and tasted lovely...

Good luck and let us know how you go! xox

    I do!

Just a jar worth at a time. DD2 loves them so that has been a bonus.

I started with a jar covered with cheesecloth secured with a rubber band. It worked fine then I bought a sprouting jar as it had a stand built in to the lid that allowed it to drain. They are super tasty, mung beans are the favourite here at the moment!

The only problem I have is getting the beans/peas etc to sprout. I am concerned to get organic ones considering you are eating the seeds...
