we moved to a house with a grapevine. Someone told me not all vines grow fruit, so we have been waiting to see if ours will.
It has flowered and now we are thinking that might be as good as it gets.
When do grapes grow and and how will we know if they are coming. We thought the flowers were going to be grapes at first but then there were too many and as they changed it was obvious they were not going to turn into fresh fruit for us
Where is it growing? It is likely it is just an ornamental grape grown for the foliage - they are great over summer when you need the extra shade and then bare in winter and they don't grow fruit. The fruit will 'set' around November, but only if the flowers were fertilised. You may have an older variety grape vine that needs cross-pollination from another grape vine growing nearby. If you don't have one, then the flowers can't be pollinated and set fruit
