Biomedical doctors - what do they do? what is their training?
Hi,
I am interested in knowing what a biomes doctor does? On facebook I saw someone post about taking their child to see a biomed paediatrician for speech, sleep, and hyperactivity issues.
Is a bio med doctor trained the same way a normal doc is? is it using conventional medicine along with natural meds aswell?
A biomedical scientist (biomedician, biomedical doctor, medical scientist, clinical scientist) is a scientist trained in biology, particularly in the context of medicine. These scientists work to gain knowledge on the main principles of how the human body works and to find new ways to cure or treat disease by developing advanced diagnostic tools or new therapeutic strategies. The research of biomedical scientists is referred to as biomedical research.
What Arimeh said I'm a biomedical Scientist. Biomedical doctor is misused term as far as im concerned- they are not doctors. Biomed involves a 4 year medical based degree as opposed to the 6-7 for a medical doctor. Biomed degrees are usually used as an alternative path in to medicine, clinical research ( what I do) and other laboratory based work. Your friend may have their terminology incorrect.... I've never heard the term "biomedical doctor" used :/
