i had them (still do) but don't use them. i have astigmatisms that are too severe for the disposable kind, so i was paying $200+ per eye (and that was 6 years or more ago). found my vision wasn't as good, eyes were always dry, dust drove me bonkers... i decided comfort was more my style lol

I work for an optometrist and I think everyone will let you try contacts for free. Its a great way to see if you like them before going ahead with the other appts. Just make sure they spend the time showing you how to insert and remove them properly.
I wear them for distance and its great to be able to see all around my periphery withiut the frames getting in the way!
