Just wanted to say, if anyone gets one and they don't have cranberry juice on hand, bi-carb in water is supposed to help. (I can't see how it would help the infection, but it might stop the pee stinging). My sis is on a remote island, and she got one of these so I had to try and find her a cure.
I used to get these ALL the time!! The are really awful. I had chronic infections. As far as I know Cranberry juice is not good once you already have an infection, the bacteria feed off the sugar ( i think that it is meant for prevention) Cut out sugar while you have an infection. It is probably best to get some antibiotics, too. Have showers, not baths and I found using soap on the vagina bad for infections. Also, what worked for me was going off the pill (advised by naturopath). I have not had a single infection since (i would get one approx every 6-8 weeks). Hope you get better ASAP. Panadeine is good if you are in lots of pain as well as heat packs.
