Yes, I feel very strong and capable, and I'm really pleased with my body at the moment. Its a far cry from where I was in the few weeks after DS was born though. My c-section was unexpected and being a fit, strong girl beforehand and during pregnancy, I had never ever been so weak & immobilised before in my life. It was a real blow to my body and mind.
It wasn't until I got back into my regular pilates at about 8 weeks post-natal that I realised how strong I really was. I did pilates all through pregnancy and didn't realise just how much strength I'd retained, even modifying for my preggo belly. And now, I am stronger than I was pre-pregnancy, I've moved up a chart at my pilates circuit and I am so proud of myself and my strength. I feel like I could do anything!
I haven't managed to get back on my mountain bike though, bit too hot here right now. Thats a whole different kettle of fish LOL.
I had a treadmill Lulu with the intention of doing the same - trashy telly etc.. the thing became a "kinetic sculpture" in the middle of the lounge as DH used to call it. I sold it.
I'm not feeling fit at all in this pregnancy. When I was pregnant with DS, I felt really great. This time I feel stuffed after a 20 minute casual walk (pushing the pram) or I'm out of breath just sweeping and mopping the floor - normally really easy tasks for me. Maybe it's the way this baby is sitting but the belly is definitely in the way all the time now. I am doing aquaerobics and pilates once a week each so keeping it up as I don't want to feel any worse! I've got to get through labour first!
i would say i feel the unfittest i ever have right now, especially since i found out recently i have crepitus (knee probs) which i'm starting physio on this Friday (apparently it's quite common for woman to get from their 40's onwards)
