Doc won't give knee MRI results out over the phone....
and My brain is tick tick ticking away.....
Firstly, they said' no we don't give them out over the phone'. I explained that I am 100kms from them so she spoke to the doctor and he was going to read over them and then call me with the results. 10 mins later receptionist calls me back and says no doctor can't ( which I heard as won't) give results out over the phone, you'll have to make an appointment to see him. He bulk bills too, so it's not like they are making money off me.
So I've made one for 7pm tonight because I'm sick of waiting and I want to know whether I need surgery or not.
Now, why would he firstly say 'yes' to over the phone, and then do a total backflip? Makes me think that that means surgery.
THEN, I start thinking of all the totally stupid things that they could have found like cancerous tumours etc. I know I'm being totally irrational.... but why did he backflip so quickly after seeing my results?
Is it normal for MRI results not to be given out? It better be something important because I'm not keen on a 200km round trip to hear that there is nothing wong.
Haha the cancer stuff is just me being a duffer most likely.
As soon as I got off the phone I thought about you and your knee too! haha
I guess we see what he has to say tonight. I'm pretty sure it will be surgery and I'll just ask him if it's ok to hold off until my netball season is over. I cannot take not playing netball or at least not being able to participate in my sports. I've been back and training and all is pretty good with it anyway, so we'll see.
xx
Thanks girls.
Yeah not fantastic news, but I suppose it's better than it could have been.
So, I've sprained pretty much every ligament in my knee. They are all swollen.
I have also worn down part of my knee cap to 50% of it's thickness because at some stage it has moved out of place and been rubbing on one of my leg bones!!!! EEK!! So I have no idea what we do about that at all and I'm hoping it's not bad.
I've also got a bakers cyst in my knee which needs either to be drained or complete removal. This has formed because of injury.
I have 2 injuries due to running and one due to jumping. It makes me sound like I'm some super athlete.... if only that were the case.
So I've been referred to a orthopedic surgeon. I've just got to wait to hear from him and see when I can get in, and then we work out what goes from there.
Good times. LOL
But, I always say if you are going to innjure yourself, you may aswell go all out and do a decent job otherwise what's the point?
haha
