Thanks for the info, I actually already knew this but continued to drink it lol. However when I have my nieces around or friends kids I dont drink coke in front of them and as far as they are concerned its not in our house. Little do they know lol. I am getting better though and have switched to coke zero

    Interesting story -

I have a GF that is a midwife, she told me a story once about a woman she assisted giving birth to.

When they were filling out the questionaire when she came into emergency (she was from out of town) she filled in the usual questions, and there was the part at the end that mentioned 'anything else we should know?'

She said to my friend that she wasn't sure if it was relevant, but she drinks approx 4L coke per day.. and has done for as long as she could remember (think she was in her 30's)

To cut a long story short, she ended up birthing her baby, was an average size baby (not her first) - relatively straight forward, no complications... EXCEPT when she was pushing her baby out, her pevis absolutely shattered

My GF said she has never seen anyone in so much pain in her life.
She ended up giving birth, no issues with the baby, but had to get her body set from her pelvis shattering, so she was in hospital for ages after having her baby.

Apparently the Drs etc did all kinds of tests in regards to it shattering... they said that her bones had just rotted & deteriorated over time - more than likely to the sugar, etc from the amount of coke (and perhaps poor diet otherwise) she had been drinking on a daily basis for such a long period of time

I realise this is fairly unbelievable, but still ... OMG!!!

Geeze... but it doesn't surprise me... 4L is a massive ammount... especially when you consider that you should replace every glass of coke with a glass of water to neutralise the de-hydrating effects of it. I assume she wasn't drinking 4L of water each day. How horrific!

A friend who I work with does very heavy labour work (shovelling etc) and drinks nothing but coke and iced coffee. I saw him with a water bottle once and thought he must be sick! He always has them side by side when he is working - 2L of each. Cuckoo!
