Hair Removal - What do you do?

So I've done the shaving thing and the waxing thing. Haven't used the hair removal creams though. I have a few questions...

Do you use different "techniques" for different areas? Ie shave your pubic region and wax your legs? If so, why?

If you shave, how long does it take for regrowth? And how long does it take to not have the "*****ly" feeling? Is it different for legs or pubic region?

If you use hair removal cream, same questions...

If you use wax, same questions...

If you use wax, do you DIY or pay someone?

    Thanks in advance...

pubic area - waxed by a professional waxer who specialises in the area (I've been to a general waxer before and lets just say I didn't like where the hot wax ended up), contemplating going permanent hair removal for part of the hair and will continue to wax the rest. Have shaved and used hair removal cream, never again for the shaving as I loathe the coarseness of the regrowth, hair removal cream is hit'n'miss and would prefer not to use it unless I have to as it does effect the hair and makes waxing a little bit harder the next time.

legs & under arms - hair removal creams and/or shaving, but I think I will be going back down the waxing path because the hair grows back lighter, may even go down permanent hair removal path for these

    brows - professionally waxed

Wax legs, wax underarms. Do it myself (well, my partner does it LOL!) Can't stand how quick it all grows back. Plus I have an excuse if I let it go "oh, i've just been waiting for the right length to wax..." Besides, now I've been waxing for so long my leg hairs are barely there, and my underarm hair is very fine now. Wax them every 6-8 weeks.

Down there though, I've tried to wax down there. Tried. OW! Usually I tidy up, as I prefer not to to bare, but if I go for it I shave myself mostly because even after fertility treatment and birth, I can't get past the fact that someone will be down there touching and poking around. I tidy up when it needs it, and shave infrequently.

I've tried the creams and i think I must be sensitive because they burnt my legs, and that was one for sensitive skin. So glad I tried on my legs and not somewhere a little MORE sensitive!

I am having IPL (laser) on my underarms atm - I would need to wax them every 4-6 weeks (I am dark and coarse) and bit the bullet & started getting IPL. I am onto my fourth session ($100 per session) & I think I would only need one more & then I am hair free under there. The good thing is that I can shave inbetween IPL sessions with no adverse affect to the IPL. I go every 7 weeks (sometimes longer) for the IPL.

I wax everywhere else, which includes - XX bikini, full leg, lip, eyebrow & half arm. I have to wax my bikini every 4 weeks, bottom half of leg & half arm 6-8 weeks, top half leg up 8-12 weeks (grows slower than the bottom). Lip & eyebrow I try to maintain as much as I can then I get it done the next time I am at the beauticians. Sometimes I wax my bottom half leg & half arm but I can't do my bikini or top legs myself - too hard.

Shave under my arms as the cream gave me a *****ly feeling. I had them waxed a couple of times and it was great, only thinng is, in summer you need a bit of re-growth for it to work.

Get my bikini line waxed as I like an extended which leaves only the landing strip, needs to be kept up every 5weeks. I tried waxing myself, hurt like hell, even tried having couple of a wines, still hurt like mad I also tried the cream and didn't like the feeling of having a chemical that close to my 'bits' and I certainly wouldn't be using the cream where they wax!!

Legs I use the cream, easy as and usually lasts a good while and I don't get that *****ly feeling like with shaving. Can't justify waxing legs as you have to leave re-growth too long which doesn't work for me in Summer and no point in winter as my legs are hardly ever seen.

Eyebrows, I get waxed at the same time I have my bikini line done, usually have and eyelash tint too.

I considered IPL and I was told it would not work on my as I am pale, freckly and have red hair.

If you want to get wax, alot of salons have 'package deals' for getting a few things done together.

I wax my pubic region myself. Shave my legs. I've shaved down there once, and never again. It's horrible, itches and grows back all Blergh. Waxing makes the hair grow back finer and softer.
Shaving my legs doesn't itch tho...

    Oh, and why...

I wax down there because I like the feel of it better (after obviously not during!) shave my legs because I'm too lazy to wax them XD

Ie shave your pubic region and wax your legs?

Shave the pits and legs cause its convienent to do in the shower. If im feeling wealthy I book in to get a half leg and my pits done the same time as my brow's (you get it cheaper) but never the smoo.... no one touches the smoo

Cream pubic region cause I can go from one end to the other without worrying about cutting those low lying curtians

If you shave, how long does it take for regrowth??
pits usually 3-4 days, even up to a week depending on what time of month it is (yes wierd I know)
legs a few weeks but then im not hairy either

And how long does it take to not have the "*****ly" feeling?
usuaslly 2 -3 days on the smoo...if I havent done it for ages it can itch but does cease once my body is use to it again

Is it different for legs or pubic region?
YES...all grows different...I suppose it comes down to the fertilizer used

I shave under arms and legs. Under-arms because I'm never frequent enough to the waxer to keep it down and it's also quick and easy (once a week or so). Legs because I have so little hair growing on them that you'd be going to find the hair to wax it (every few months, seriously). It's fine and fair.

I wax my pubic region. Removes it better, doesn't grow back as quickly and lasts longer. And I can get around to it when I need to (about every six weeks). I've also used a spray and then serum from the waxer to make the hair grow back even slower which must be working. I never DIY wax. Sometimes I go the whole hog and get a brazillian and there's no way I can twist myself or see everywhere that has hair that needs to be removed. It's not expensive to just get a bikini wax either and I have no idea how to do it.

Do you use different "techniques" for different areas? Ie shave your pubic region and wax your legs? If so, why?

Nup. Wax everything. The only time a razor's been anywhere near me in the last 15 years is in an energency only.

If you use wax, same questions...

Don't get a *****ly feeling and no longer get ingrowns, which is great. Regrowth is about 5-6 weeks.

If you use wax, do you DIY or pay someone?

Pay someone. I'm can't do that to myself, I'm too big a sook. I'd pay about $140 every month for full leg, brazilian, underarm and brow. I used to pay $55 for a brow specialist but it's too exxy to keep up.

If you can afford it, I recommend laser/IPL. I had 3 sessions on underarm and brazilian and it thinned things out really well. I went to a cosmetic medical centre in the CBD and it cost about $285 a go plus $75 for the topical anaesthetic cream (Elna). It is expensive but very worth it.

Under arms I shave probably once a week.
Legs, brow, lip, chin, bikini wax once a month - costs $40

I hAve used cream but don't like how frequent you need to remove hair.

I am one that gets everything waxed - legs/underarms/eyebrows/and pubic region

the reason for this is that my hair growth is slow going - i was only needing to shave my armpits once a week etc so figured that waxing was soo much better as they come back softer

i get eyebrows/underarms done every 3 weeks and legs and pubic area every 5 and they are all done by a professional

i tried waxing my underarms by myself when pregnant with DS and i could only get half done as it was way too sore
