I am a myotherapist, not practicing at present but keen to get back.

I think it is definately worth a try as hands on tissue release can be very effective from the hands of a trained professional.

I would recommend finding a Myotherapist through a recommendation if you can manage it - as in every industry there are good and bad. Also, some Myotherapists specialise in different techniques, conditions etc so you may be able to find someone who is a better fit for you. Otherwise, make sure they offer private health insurance and/or are registered with a professional body. This will vouch for their skills and training as unfortunately there are people out there calling themselves Myotherapists who have not done the training.

Let me know if you need any more assistance or even a referral

jackrose - Thanks for your advice . I am considering going to the Myotherapist who runs out of the same clinic as my chiro, they definitely accept private health (not that I have it!), so I'm assuming they're OK. If you can recommend anyone in the eastern 'burbs of Melbourne I'd really appreciate it!

Melbel - I'm glad you've had success with myotherapy too . I'd love some recommendations, but Frankston is too far for me unfortunately.

Just thought I'd update to say I'm booked in for my first myotherapy session this arvo! Thanks everyone for your advice and PM's, you all helped me to decide (and convince DH ) to give it a go. I'll let you all know how I go.

The timing couldn't be better, I'm in so much pain today . It's taking my breath away and I'm fighting the tears (but they're winning ). Fingers crossed myotherapy will bring some relief!
