    Hello lovelies

I just made a lovely minestrone soup for dinner with some lovely warm homemade bread rolls.

Doesn't that sounds so healthy (I'm not going to mention the 3 blocks of chocolate I bought at the supermarket this afternoon ssshhhhhhh)

I have been craving lettuce, I bought the biggest iceberg lettuce I could find and I am planning on eating the whole thing tomorrow. We went to vietnamese for dinner on Sat night because I wanted the springs rolls with lettuce on them, and man was I a lettuce nazi. "THAT'S TOO MUCH LETTUCE! - YOU DON'T NEED THAT MUCH" hee hee...

    Audax: at the smurfy spew

Fuzzy and cherished: I had to buy yoghurt today too, yummy organic vanilla - mmmmmmmmmmmm I love vanilla yoghurt!

Dr Tal: yay to eating more than mash and oats! Glad you're feeling a bit better

Entreat: wow, how did have you managed to put on no weight since march? I've put on 2kgs and Im only 9 weeks!!!!

    Hi girls!
Hope you don't mind me joining in, I've been looking for a bit of motivation to stay on the wagon .... up until 21 weeks I was going so well being healthy, but had a 5 week blow out where I put on a kilo a week- pretty much just using pregnancy as an excuse to eat whatever I felt like! The weight wasn't the biggest issue, more the feeling of guilt of letting myself go like that... Back on the wagon now, and am feeling much better. Made a deal with myself that I can only have treats if I've exercised that day (I'll only be strict for a couple of weeks til I'm back into healthy habits). Exercise at the moment is a walk with the dog for 45 minutes and I'm aiming to do that 3-4 times a week. I haven't read the whole thread yet (it's a long one!) but looking forward to sharing with you all!
    K x

Krystals - welcome to the group! Sounds like a great healthy plan you have there, and I know that guilt feeling, it's foul isn't it. Walking the dog is a great plan (I need to do that too!).

AFM, I need a biiiiiig kick up the butt! I have just been feeling tiiiiiired and so unmotivated. But I know my GD test is in 6 weeks or so and I really want to be healthy beforehand (may not make a difference, but hey, I've got nothing to lose!). Every day I say I'll start eating better once I feel better/once DH isn't sick/injured/once the sky turns blue/pigs start flying etc etc. I've gotta stop making excuses! And honestly I think I'd actually feel better if I ate better. So today I've tried to drink more water, have just had my metamucil (have to have that in order to have my PG vits - which might also help!). Also have taken my probiotics & vit D. Tomorrow I wanna do everything I did today PLUS have my two serves of fruit, and walk the dog for 30 mins.

I think i've been in a vicious cycle of having foods I know i really shouldn't (contribute to a dietary malabsorption I have) which I KNOW makes me exhausted/tired (but stops me from being constipated). So for e.g. I've been having cherry ripes... omg I haven't been able to eat them for 8 years... and I think I was kidding myself I could get away with them. Plus too many chips Instead I need to eat the safe foods and safe fruits + more water which should = healthier, more energetic belfie.

So this is my 'fess up, kick me post! I got a cold 3 weeks ago (after gastro) and I still just feel SO bleh. But if I eat bleh, I WILL feel bleh. Ok I'll stop ranting at myself now! Hope everyone else is going ok.
Meal plan tomoz: (seriously, my brain is just freezing up trying to think of this!)
Brekkie: porridge with blueberries, peppermint tea
    Morning tea: muesli bar
    Lunch: salad sandwich
    Arvo tea: yoghurt & banana
Dinner: rice paper rolls with prawns & peanut sauce (that's what i feel like anyway - even tho it means a trip to the supermarket!)

Audax & Dr. Tal - so sorry you're both sick, hope it stops asap!
Cherished - did you end up finding out what colour bundle you're having? or are you leaving it as a surprise now? I got another peek at bubba girl today... still a girl (thank goodness *looks at the sea of pink stuff in the nursery*)

Thanks Belfie! Walking the dog is a good plan, she gets so excited and she's not fussed at all that it's a lot slower than we used to be/when she walks with hubby...she just LOVES being on her lead! The water intake is a good point, and I've been making an effort to get a couple of litres a day in for the last couple of weeks- I've found my leg cramps have eased up...not sure if the water has contributed, but I'd like to think so... (cross fingers)

Congrats on getting motivated!!! The tiredness/crappy feeling is what I'm trying to avoid- and I *know* that when I eat well and exercise I feel much better, no matter how much grizzling I let out beforehand!

Are you eating enough in your meal plan?
    Mine for tomorrow is:
Brekky: Oatbrits with HEAPS of milk & a banana
    Morning Tea: Mandarin
    Morning Tea #2: Hot chocolate
Lunch: Tuna, cheese and salad sandwich and a juice box (explanation: one of the reasons I put on so much in a short time was sooooo much juice- am drinking a juicebox a day now to portion control!!! hehehe)
    Afternoon tea #1: Nut bar
Afternoon tea #2: Stewed apples and yoghurt
    Dinner: Pumpkin soup and toast

Oh, and because of State of Origin tomorrow night, there's some S&V chippies in there as well- hubby and I always share a bag. But tomorrow is my treat day- have been saving them the last couple of days- 2 days chocolate free!!!! I think I should get a badge (I've certainly got the chest to pin it on!!!)

tehehe that's awesome! Well done to you. I too have the chest to pin a badge on... but don't think I've earnt that one at present!

As for my meal plan, i was toying with popping supper in there too, and actually the arvo tea is quite big for me. Plus I didn't include drinks, might pop a milo in there somewhere.

krystals and YAY another inspiring healthy muma to lean on for good ideas and support. Sounds like you have really got it together I love my 1st & 2nd morning and afternoon teas lol. Mine are usually fruit for one and a treat for the other, a biscut or yogurt etc I do feel naughty having a couple of biscuts every day but figure it's better than feeling like I am depriving myself and then go on a binge. My breakfast is either my home made spelt toast or sultana bran (that's a new thing as I'm not a cereal girl at all)! I am going to start having my oats again though as it's getting cooler so when the sultana bran is gone there will be no more for me. Lunch is often left overs from dinner and dinner is well whatever we make

I was making up a weekly food plan so that i knew what my snacks were (healthy home made ones) and what we would have for dinner every day and lunches etc. It worked well for about a month... dont' know what happened! I will start it agian on Saturday so will need to do my meal planing on Friday and go shopping. It was so handy organising to have meals that dh could take to work for lunch or dinner too so I really must get motivted to do it again.

belfie hon bubs is now a suprise and I am loving my nursery, it's multi coloured, all bright colours so great for boy or girl. So glad your little bundle is a pink one

OK so my meal plan for today...
Brekky: Sultana bran with oat milk
Morning Tea: 4 x vita wheat crackers and low fat cheese slice x 2
    Morning Tea #2: Apple
Lunch: 1/2 a vegetarian mexican pie with beans and 1/2 a lentil pie (dh will have the other half) plus salad
Afternoon tea #1: cherry bar (ummmmm it's chocolate coated)
Afternoon tea #2: hot chocolate & mandarine
Dinner: not sure yet! maybe some sort of vegie thing with rice

What's the saying??....When it rains it pours?
So my morning sickness finally cleared up, (as in I haven't vomited since Friday ) I think that's a record for me. Only problem is I now have a sunus infection Not super pleasant. SO I was off work sick yesterday had steam inhalations every two hours. Came into work today, but my head is so congested I think I am going to go home again soon.

Haven't much felt like eating or exercising either, so the whole healthy thing isn't really going too well at the moment

Dr Tal - I can't write a better prescription than the one that Cherished wrote, look after yourself, and i agree it's very difficult to do the whole healthy/exercise thing when you're sick sick sick! Don't beat yourself up.

Cherished - aaww your nursery sounds gorgeous! And your meal planning sounds like a great idea.

AFM - well my day went KINDA to plan. Went to a GF's for DS to have a haircut, but had forgotten my muesli bar. Ended up sitting there for yonks having a cuppa but neither her nor I had anything for me to eat so by the time I got home at 1.30pm I was ravenous. Had a 'standard' serving size of potato chips to stave off the hunger (geez it seemed small! ) then my salad sandwich. And then still felt FOUL afterwards. I really don't seem to do so well if I forget to eat. So then a cuppa and some chocolate and ANOTHER hour on the sofa before I felt human again. The house was a disaster zone and toddler boy was back up again . Didn't get around to my healthy arvo tea, but did manage a walk and my rice paper rolls for dinner were seriously yummo. Deteriorated into naughty land a bit tonight (ahem chocolate, icecream), but on the whole... not TOO bad.

I've posted somewhere else cos I've been feeling seriously BLEH and can't work out what's wrong. I had a HUGE attack of the poor me's last night - did a big post here and then wussed out & deleted it . I've had a cold for 3 weeks (after "that" gastro) and I just feel OFF still but there's nothing specific wrong. I just think I shouldn't be feeling so crappy at this stage of my PG, and my darling boy is sleeping beautifully (till 8 or 9am) so it's not that i'm not getting enough sleep either. But after today's effort, I think it's mostly my nutrition. Plus I may have eaten something that does my belly bad on the weeekend, cos I tend to get very tired & mopey when my digestion problem flares up (even though I think PG is masking any isses - I'm not capable of getting the runs like I usually do! ). I just end up feeling exhausted and it's such an effort to do anything - which is really not me at all. Plus I can't seem to eat normal size meals anymore, then if I forget to have a proper morning/arvo snack, I think I get too empty/tired and my body just can't pick up again quickly. So that's my theory anyway.

I was googling some dieticians yesterday, toying with revisiting that option to get some help/inspiration/creativity regarding our whole family challenges/restricted diet. Some scientific articles suggested that some of my "allowed" fruits might not be ok after all. So frustrating when they change the diet but you don't find out! Arrrgh! So now i'm a bit paranoid as to what I should and shouldn't have!

    Ok so meal plan tomorrow:
    brekkie: porridge with blueberries
    snack: yoghurt with peaches
    lunch: salad sandwich with cheese
snack: dark chocolate sesame snaps & mixed nuts
dinner: satay beef stirfy (yes I have homemade satay sauce to use up lol)

    Thanks for listening.

belfie sounds like you also need a perscription for some love'n care and relaxation, I'm sure Dr. Tal can write one for you I'm also feeling a bit off with being tired. I did start a thread asking when the tiredness kicked in again cause I think it's too early at 25 weeks for me to start feeling like this again, I've even started to feel every so slightly sick in the mornings again which is lasting to around lunch time (not that I can complain Dr. Tal )! I haven't actually reached for a sick bag yet. Anyway try not to listen to Dr. Google as it will always tell you 100 different opinions. You are better off to stick to one thing and see if you get results, then try something else if that doesn't work. I feel for you leaving home without food hon, I said to dh last week "if I don't get some food very soon little kids will start loosing their lunch boxes" But I'm always like that, not just being pregnant so it's just twice as bad now!

Food today: Whatever I can find, not much in the house at the moment!

Damn that purple reply to thread button - just wrote out a big reply and it's gone! Grrrrrrr!

Belfie: Big for you - that must be awful feeling that bad all the time, maybe a trip to the dietician/nutritionist would be a good idea, couldn't hurt at least. Hope you get some answers soon.

Dr Tal to you too, sinus infections are so bad, you poor thing. Hope you're on the mend

Cherished:I remember feeling tired all the time when pg with DS, I'd prescribe some rest and then some more rest then after you've had a rest do some random lunchbox thieving.

Krystals: I am liking the look of your food plan (especially the S&Vs)

AFM: Well, you should all get a load of what I'm eating right now, giant sized bowl of lettuce (I am lettuce obsessed) with half an avocado, half a capsicum, 2 tomatoes, 2 mushrooms, half a cucumber, with good olive oil and white wine vinegar. YUMYUMYUM. and for a snack I had organic sulphur dioxide free dried apricots, organic sultanas and raw cashews. This baby is loving healthy healthy stuff at the moment, I might go for some more salad. DP reminded me that i went salad mad with DS but all I remember eating with him was fish and chips and "chicken schnitzel sandwich with swiss cheese on dark rye please" my standard lunch order - hee hee

    Hi everyone

Kirsten I wish I was addicted to lettuce! salad is dh's fav food so I eat it with at least one meal a day, I do enjoy it but cricky sometimes I've just had enough! It's a very healthy craving to have though.

AFM today I worked out our weeks meal plan, it actually took ages but well worth it. Now I don't have to think about what to make woohooo. Tonight is prob the most unhealthy meal though its a pasta/vegi bake of which I have just realised that I forgot to put broccoli in Far out I am tired! I had about 11 hours sleep last night and a nana nap today. I don't know how I managed to do all the house work, go shopping and even make dinner. I can't imagine pregnancy #2 will be much fun when I don't have these opportunities to rest. My hat goes off to all of you who are running around after other children.

Hi Girls! Good on you for getting your meal plan done for the week cherished! We write a rough one each week for shopping purposes, but then more often than not decide to mix it up again by the time the food is in the fridge! Tonight is my SIL's impossible quiche- no base! with chicken mushroom and parsley- would have loved to have asparagus, but we live 45 minutes from the supermarket!

The last couple of days I've struggled to stay inline with my meal plans, but have been proud that I haven't strayed too much- Have had some family dramas but am proud that the worst thing I have eaten was a packet pasta- macaroni cheese. Not stressed about the pasta or cheese so much, just the fact that it was a packet meal!!! I'm usually not so lazy with food and both hubby and I prefer to make things from scratch. I don't really like eating numbers or words I can't pronounce! I ended up not eating dinner last night which was naughty, so was famished this morning at breakfast! Luckily hubby cooks and divvy's the porridge, so I didn't get a chance to overreat I didn't walk yesterday or today- I ended up taking the afternoon off work and sleeping for 3 hours!!! Will walk Ella tomorrow morning and if I'm feeling good might go a little further or longer than I usually do.

I hope everyone has a good weekend with lots of energy!

Hi Krystals! Nice to have another new person x

Hi everyone else! Dr Tal, hope you are feeling better today.

I have to admit that all your meal plans made me reflect on what I have been eating. Most days I am generally ok however I think its the after dinner snacks that I struggle with! DH loves his chocolate so there is always some around which just sucks. I might have to implement a no chocolate in the house rule for a while to get me through.

    Back to the gardening..

    HEY!

Sorry I won't have any personals in this reply. Too many to catch up on.

Finally seem to have the sinus infection on the downhill slope. My head no longer feels like it's going to split in to and I am no longer blowing green chunky bits!! Also on the SUPER WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O oh, did I mention WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO side of things. I'VE BEEN MORNING SICKNESS AND VOMIT FREE FOR TWO WHOLE WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So now that I seem to be on the mend, and potentially don't need to worry about vomiting every half hour I am looking forward to getting in some shopping on the weekend and hopefully cooking some nice healthy meals. Will try to keep popping in more regularly then what I have over the past couple of weeks
