Help! Scalp Sores & Headaches :(

For the last few weeks I have noticed little sores on my scalp. They are now quite painful to touch.
When I first noticed them I picked at one and it came out like a blackhead but now they are just sore, scabby and all over my head. It hurts to wash and brush my hair
In the last week or so I have had a fair few headaches, ive had 3 today actually, and im wondering if these could be related?
I will see my GP but I want to know if anyone has experienced similar?

Are the sores following a nerve? It could be shingles. It is definitely worth having checked out at your GP. Chicken pox has been going around.

    Have you changed your shampoo?
My scalp gets awful if I don't use an anti-dandruff shampoo.

    A blood test might help.

Yes shingles is like chicken pox, they are in the same family if that makes sense. So if you had chicken pox as child you would be at risk of getting shingles as an adult rather than chicken pox. Particularly if you are run down and have been stressed at all. It does sound like shingles. A GF at work had them on her head as well, and it sounds like what you have. They are extremely painful.

Nope no new shampoo, so shingles possibly?
I guess it would make sense with the stress lately

Best to get it checked out. If it is shingles they usually give you an AB of some sort if if they can determine they have got it within the first 3 days. They will also blood test to check your immunity and may recommend a booster immunisation.

NFI but sounds yucky! There's nothing worse than a sore head. Hope you get into the GP soon.

I thought chicken pox immediately as it's pretty much the only virus that will cause blisters on the scalp so if you've already had CP I would suspect shingles. Definitely see your GP!

How did you go? Did you get a GP and are they clearing up at all?

Selenium deficiency does it to me, every time.
The BLUE Selsun shampoo will correct it, I need to use it 2-3 times a week, or a good multivitamin with selenium.
