Mole removed today ..... here we go again now its my turn :(

Just before xmas some of you might remember my DH had a mole removed that turned out to be melanoma, followed by more surgery and further testing and horrible horrible waitinguntil he got the all clear. Now he has to have regular skin checks.

I thought I had better go get checked too, so I went today and the mole I was concerned about turns out to be ok but another one looks a bit funny. They removed it on the spot and now I am waiting on tests to come back. I wont know until the 17th Feb. I am so relieved that there were no others but now I have the stress of waiting for my results to come back. I just have to be positive as I am sure it worked for my DH - fingers crossed.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GO GET CHECKED, DONT WAIT, DONT PUT IT OFF, ITS BETTER TO GET THESE THINGS EARLY RATHER THAN LATER.

I hope the time goes quickly and the tests are all clear.
I get a skin check every year. One of the dr's at the clinic I went to asked me why I come in so often as he thought I was a " clean skin ".... Let me tell you, since then I have had stuff burnt off and cut out, one leaving a scar on my cheek. So definately everyone should be getting checked regularly.

they should have them back within 3-4 days..

I dont know, I had them checked through Molemap, it was a GP who checked me, the sample only went to our local pathologist, should I call earlier you think, I would like to call earlier but I am scared, I have to get my stitches taken out then too. When my DH had his removed it was horrible waiting for the results I made myself sick with worry but I am strangely calm about my situation. My Dh said he felt the same about his.

if they are abnormal they SHOULD ring you as soon as they get them.

otherwise we tell our people will have results when you get stitches taken out. otherwise we will ring if something is not quite right.

I just called to see if results were in and they were the nurse had just finished with my folder I freaked her out a little.
Anyway its all good, it was benign but had the potential to turn into Melanoma, Kawazuki you might know what it was called, melacy... something maybe.

Anyway great news and I feel great and I will be getting my skin checked every year now. Thanks for all your good luck wishes xoxoxoxox means a lot to have your support.

could of be a Dysplas.
is it a pre cancerous cell. so you got it out while it was benign but it shows characteristics or teh potential to become nasty..

it is freaky when that happens, happens to me once every few weeks
