    Unhappy Morning sickness

    Hi Guys,

Im 7 & a half weeks pregnant and feeling like crap.

morning sickness has been really bad this time and surprise surprise, it isn't just in the mornings!

it has now gotten to the stage where it is waking me up in the middle of the night.

ive tried dry bikkies, dry toast, almost dry toast, sweet biscuits, ice water, barley sugar and god only knows what else. im starting to worry because i am keeping very little down and appear to be losing weight, which cant be good for either of us.

any suggestions guys? flat lemonade worked for a couple of days, but even that has stopped working now.

im worried that bub and i aren't keeping enough down for it to be beneficial for us. for me, i can put the weight back on later, but if bub is to remain healthy, obviously i need to be able to eat and keep things down. my morning sickness was violent the last two times but lasted only a little while. (from memory).

any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    Jenna

Maybe try the Blackmores Morning Sickness tabets from the health food shop. They worked for me as did the Rennie tablets from the chemist for the heart burn if you have any.

Have you gone to the doctor & got a prescription?
For my first I was sick for 16 weeks... and I tried everything... and I mean everything. The only thing that stopped the vomitting was Maxolon tablets. (you can take them on an empty stomach too!). They were a life saver for me.

As soon as I found out I was pregnant again, I got a script immediately. I must admit, this time it wasn't as effective as the first time... but it did help sometimes. And like the first pregnancy - I had every goddamn pregnancy symptom - right up to 16 weeks. On top of that I got a rotten cold as well. So I would only have to cough a few times and that would result in me chucking up!

I really have pity for you Jenna. I hope that it goes away by the 12th week (which does with most women). Congratulations on your pregnancy

Hi Jenna, firstly congrats on your pregnancy...

I agree that you should seek medical advice, they have plenty of different medicines to try... maxalon & stemitil are the 2 most common.

If these dont help & you continue to lose weight you may be suffering from Hyperemesis gravidarum (which I had) & will need a stronger medication. I took somethiing called zofran zydis & it worked so well, although it is expensive. But if you have a mild case you may not need to take many & fingers crossed it will go away around the 12 week mark for you. (it can last until the very end as with me but this seems to be quite rare so I wouldnt be too worried.

Either way I think you should definately see a doctor. They will probably jab you in the bum with maxalon & hopefully that will do the trick for you.

I wish you the best of luck, I do have pity for you as I know how hard it can be.

Fingers crossed it will ease up for you & stop very very soon,

    Take care

    Thanks guys.

i tried yoghurt today and kept that down, but am still feeling yuck. I have a doctors appointment, but that isn't until wednesday unfortunately. tried for an earlier appointment but with no luck.

now i can understand how my dogs feel. i have boxer/s pregnant at the moment, due in 5 and 6 weeks, i think they had a touch of morning sickness too.

i just keep telling myself, it cant last, it cant last lol

will keep you updated on how it goes!

i'll try the health food shop too, gotta go get some rasberry tabs for the doggies, might grab something for me too!
I tried salada too, and they worked well, as long as i only nibbled, took ages to eat one, but better than nothing lol

    Hi Jenna.

    Congratulations on your pg!

I have been lucky enough to have never suffered from bad M/S but I have had some close friends who suffered from it horribly! They seemed to recommend dry ice chips, dry crackers in bed first thing in the morning, chuppa chupps and cucumber and water as the only things which they could keep down.

I don't know if you have taken pg supps in your previsous 2 pgs, but I have taken Elevit pg supp throughout my current pg and my 1st pg with DS. I took mine first thing in the morning and found that this helped me avoid the horrible feelings of naseua and m/s.

I hope that you start to feel better soon and hopefully this pg will be like the last and the m/s won't last much longer.

    Congrats on the bub!
