... TD, my best friend had her boobs done then about a year later her nose done (less then 2years ago) ... her boobs look awesome but the other surgeon that did her nose i feel awful to admit & say it looks incredibly clear to everyone that don't even know her that she has had a nose job IYKWIM (looks unnatural, a bit ski slop & the cute pinches on the side look very hollywood look)

Of course i would never admit this to my very much loved friend but seeing she had it done in Melb i could find out the surgeon's name so you ' Don't ' go to him !!!!

I am so loving the warner weather, the twins are out to play today. I've taken the corset off without my drs approval but it was getting a bit annoying, so i purchased a sports bra as i'm supposed to have done later this week. I am in a low cut dress today with the sports bra on and my boobies look awesome

My mum had one when i was a teen. A selfish teen (cos there's a different type out there).

I felt she was saying to me "You knnow people always say we look the same? Well you look so crap I need surgery to stop looking like that."

Which is why I won't have anything done at all - if my hypothetical daughter/granddaughter looks like me, I want her to know you don't need surgery to look acceptable. It really scarred me. Probably just me, but I won't take the chance.

I had my nose done when I was 21. I had a bump on the bridge of my nose that really bothered me and I really wanted to have it gone! Everyone told me that my nose was fine, but I really didn't like it and I was the one who had to look at it everyday!

I had it done in South Africa and it was very expensive because I went to a really good doctor. How much is costs in Oz, I have no idea. All I would say is that I would make sure that I went to a crash-hot doctor and would rather pay extra for a really good job! As mentioned in a previous post, I wasn't particularly happy with the result first time around and so had to have a second operation. This is fairly common due to the fact that the swelling takes so long to go down.

Be prepared for a lot of pain, a cast on your face and massive bruising for 2 or more weeks. Then you have to deal with ongoing pain, sensitivity and swelling that you have to squeeze down with your fingers everyday for 6 months. If you don't do this, then the oedema can settle and your nose will stay puffy (forever, apparently!). Also be prepared to wait 1 whole year before ALL of the swelling goes down and you can see the actual end result. You have a pretty good idea by 6 months, though. Also, if you ever wear your sunnies on your head be prepared: if you bend down to pick something up and they fall back down onto your nose, you WILL hit the roof - it is kind of like getting a netball straight in the face on a cold day! You would be amazed at how frequently this happens!!

Be very weary of any doctor suggesting to add cartilage to your nose (a graft). With the swelling I mentioned above, your nose will look great until all of the swelling goes down and then it may look very different! I never had a graft, they just removed bone and cartilage on mine.

Now the downside: any surgery anywhere destroys / affects nerves where the trauma has taken place (they literally take a (albeit surgical) hammer and chisel to the bone). As a result, like me, your nose can become very sensitive. My allergies make my nose run way more than it did before. When it is cold your nose runs more as well. So you may have an improved nose, but when you have to have a constant supply of tissues on hand and have a tissue on it for most of spring, then you have to wonder how attractive it is after all!

I am still not particularly happy with my nose (although it is a vast improvement) and there isn't much more they can do to it now that I have had repeat surgeries. Would I have it done again? I think so. I would, however, have liked to have been told about the (above) long term effects up front. Just remember: everything comes at a price...
