    Remedies for urinary tract infection?

I'm pretty sure I am getting/have got a UTI. It is pretty difficult to get into a doctor where I live, and tomorrow arvo is the earliest I can get in unless it's a real emergency. So what are some at home, or over the counter remedies I can use to try to get rid of this (or at least minimise symptoms) before it really gets a hold of me.
It's not too bad yet, just a bit tingly when I wee. I am making sure I drink plenty of water and I am weeing when I need to (not holding it). What else can I do to help?

Drinking lots of water, possibly ural. Try to avoid acidic foods/drinks as much as possible (it will only burn more coming out!) And cranberry juice is meant to help prevent utis so if you aren't sure if you definitely have one drink some. If you already have an advanced uti, cranberry juice won't get rid of it.

Hugs. Try to rest up too.

It depends how the UTI started and how advanced it is. You're better off having ural on hand than anything else and second to that antibiotics.

Vinegar works for thrush but not a UTI.

Do you have cystitis at the moment? Try and drink as much water as you can. But please don't leave it untreated as it can go to your kidneys.

Thanks everyone. I have gotten some ural, cranberry juice and I am drinking extra water. I spoke to the pharmacist and he said there's not much else I can do. I have an appt at the doc's tomorrow, but I have to wait until then to get the AB's. I'm pretty sure it's a UTI, I have had one once before and it's the same feeling. Uncomfortable to wee and I am getting a few little pains in my abdomen now too. I'm frustrated that I can't get into the doc until tomorrow and just have to suffer until then. I know there's something wrong and can't get it fixed!!! Bloody remote living!

It should be the 100% cranberry juice , normally found at health food store, rather than the sugary drink in the supermarket. It does taste bitter but it helps. It can quickly get to your kidneys as i found out last year so hope you can get to the docs quickly.

I only got the one from the grocery store. No health food stores out here, unfortunately. I will be getting to the doctor tomorrow arvo at 2pm. Hopefully it doesn't get too bad by then. It doesn't feel like it's getting any worse at the moment, though I have had a few sachet's of ural so maybe that's just masking the symptoms....I will call the doctors surgery first thing tomorrow to see if they have an earlier appt.
