Migraine from hell - TMI

I havent had one in such a long long time!!! Ive never had one be as intense as I have today.

It started yesterday, I woke up shakey and nervy. M was playing up and I noticed whilst shopping in the morning that he was sweeting and had a temp. He got some panadol and seemed to stop sweeting but the temp stayed until late last night.

I started feeling dizzy around 3ish...thankfully J came home and I didnt have to worry as much.

By 8pm i felt the niggles of a head ache starting. Thinking I would tap it in the bum I took an endone before going to bed thinking it would kill it off and I would be right.

OH how wrong was I

I woke at 7 this morning with a head ache form hell. It was from my neck all the way up the back of my head. I slowly got out of bed and the sickness hit me like a ton of bricks. I began dry retching and just made it to the loo before wetting myself. It took everything for me to get of the loo BUT I ended up blacking out on the way back to bed. Lucky agian for me J cuaght me and put me into bed, giving me 3 nurophean and telling me to stay. I didnt get up until 10.30ish, still with head ache but much much better.

And here I am...almost 2.30 in the afternoon and im still in my nighty lol. I feel like im drunk..I hate feeling like this and im so thank ful J is home today incase I pass out again. He's made me go for laydowns twice already, cleaned the house, done washing and looked after the kids.

Anyways...this has shaken me up a bit...Ive never had one this bad. Im considering going to the doctor next week to have a chat to him about it cause if something simular happened to me when J wasnt home or I was in the car Id be screwed.

Would you wait to see if it happen's again to see the doctor or go this next week?

Go to the Doctor, just to get a check up. Hopefully it is just a once off and you feel better soon.

Ask the doctor for some Imigran tablets, these are strong migrane tablets that would help if you got struck down with one next time (take it as soon as you feel it comming)

Hope your okay, My migranes put me in hosp twice last month, so my deepest sympathies!

go this week so that you can at least have it on record while it's fresh - he may do some minor blood tests to see if anything is obviously amiss

have you ever been to a chiro? the way you've described the headache starting in your neck and going all the way up makes me think of the migraines i used to get - when i went to the chiro, my neck was so screwed up (from a car accident over 10 years earlier) that he was surprised i could function at all. it might be worth chiro (or osteo or similar) checking you out as well as the GP - GP's can only help with chemical migraines - many many migraines are "mechanical" and require different treatment.

hope you are feeling better soon hun - and yay to J man being there to help you out and take the pressure off today - he's right you know - REST is what you need

Hey hun

I agree with mummenurse go to doc and ask for Imigran!! I am ALWAYS getting migrains which leads me to the hospital getting shots!! but since seeing the doc and getting Imigran ohhhh man its heaven!! everytime i feel a strong headache coming on, i take one straight away and it does its magic. Mind you there not a cheap tablet.......for a pack of 4 tablets it cost me $23 and thats just for 4!! BUT i would pay that over and over again to keep the pain away.
