Question SPECS SHOP which do you recommend to take my 4year old to ??? ............

    Hi all,

Turns out my 4year old DD might have a lazy right eye (she failed her last eye checkup) so i have been told to take her to have her eyes tested.

There are so many specs shops here in Ballarat i have no idea which to take her to.

    Can anyone recommend one ??

Hopefully a place that bulk-bills, has great service and won't rip$ me off IYKWIM

TIA for any help, tips or suggestions even regarding if your child has had a lazy eye what to expect, etc ...

ETA OPSM used have a discount if you are a RACV member. I think they might still. Check out the RACV website

When DD1 was found by the clinic to have an eye problem when she was 6 they told me not to take her to an optometrist but a proper paediatric ophthalmologist to get her checked out. It cost more but they are actually qualified doctors and specialise in kids. HTH.

I recently went to Specsavers. They seemed pretty good and I got 2 pairs of glasses including lenses for $199. I think the kiddies glasses are cheaper again.
Pick mine up tomorrow... will be the first time I have ever worn glasses.

I've always had dd's eyes checked at OPSM and paid heaps for glasses (last pair were $400) but have recently discovered Specsavers, you can get 2 pairs for less than the price of 1 pair at OPSM and they have a bigger kids range. I'll be going to Specsavers for her next check up.

... hey Tinks call me crazy but if they all bulk bill do you think i could get away with going to two places incase i feel i'm not getting a right or clear diagnose with the first place i go to or feel like MrsMac said the service may not be that professional ... or maybe i can only get bulk billing for one place and not a second (did i make sense as i think i just confused myself)

pssssst Tinks at least DD will be able to see the top of a night club step better then her Mummy did
