I wouldn't think so. Adding honey would defeat the detox purpose.
I do it (when I remember) because I feel fabulous when I do. I just use a squeeze, its really refreshing.
Who has done this? Did it work?
When you google, you get a million hits about doing this, supposedly helps detox the liver & intestine...but no where is the mechanism of action explained. Is this as good as it says it is, or do you just feel better because you're not hitting the milky coffee first thing?
Also, does it work just as well if you add honey?

What lemon-water ration do you use Lulu?
I have stacks of lemons... tell me more!
It's very scientific actually.
I cut a lemon in half and squeeze it into a glass water. What does google recommend?
So, is that a thorough juicing of half a lemon or just a vague kinda squeeze?
It is part of my program with the Naturopath. Starting the day with a cleanse. My Nanny and Aunty do it as well.
I was told not to use bottled lemon juice.
I just squeeze some lemon in cold water (a small glass full).
Really? I thought you meant about colds...
*looks sheepishly*
I listened to everything else! I swearz *crosses heart*
my mum does cider vinegar and honey
It's morning...everything is vague!
Sometimes I put a hole in the lemon so it lasts a little longer. I dunno, maybe 20 ml or something? I don't like my mouth looking like a cats bum, and I wouldn't imagine anyone recommending drinking it like OJ.
I have and Aunty who swears by starting the day with lemon juice and water and ending the day with a pear and cup of boiling (cooled down to drinkable) water. She is very healthy![]()
It alkanises the body

*stamps foot
NOOOOOOOOOOOO it's garlic, onion, ginger and horseradish for colds!
Lemon for cleanse *flicks magpie hair and slams the door on the way out.
So google recommends lots of different things - greatest consensus is around 1 tablespoon/half a lemon's worth of juice in approx 250 ml of water with/without sweetening aid.
I do a general half squeeze. I also have hot water and lemon in place of tea and coffee a lot.
I don't think the volume matters too much MD, as long as you can taste it and it's drinkable.
And I agree with the no honey, no sweetner. If it's too tart if have less lemon rather than add honey.my 2 cents!
