I know that when I'm stressed my period usually stops (which makes charting that much more fun).

Hope AF arrives soon for you Marydean

I had my tonsils out at 30 - my period was 4 weeks late and all over the place for a month or two. Hope things settle down for you. xx

Thanks everyone for your reassuring replies. I searched a bit more online and found an abstract which looked at what happened to women's menstrual cycles for 6 months after they had major orthopedic surgery...well no surprises, only 68% of women's cycles stayed the same, the rest either missed periods or they became light & infrequent (25%) or super frequent (6%)...they also found a relationship between the degree of trauma, length of surgery, GA, blood transfusion & incidence of menstrual interruption. Hmmmm ... nice to see there's an actual scientific observation that confirms our experiences!
