    The Points system:
Points are worked out based on the amount of kj and saturated fats each food contains. Each person is given a budget based on how many kj and how much saturated fat they should be consuming each day. kj are the measurement for the rate at which food burns (literally, they set it alight to figure this out). Fruit is worth Points.

    The ProPoints system:
ProPoints are worked out based on the composition of the foods (ie, how they are made up and how our body processes and uses that energy). This is done looking at the Carbohydrates, Total fat, Fibre and Protien content of the food. This means foods that are used differently by our bodies, but which may contain the same kj, are given different values. People are generally able to eat MORE food under this program, with greater flexibility, and still expect the same kind of weight loss as under the old points system. The best thing about this ProPoints system is that FRESH fruit has no ProPoints: which means you will never have an excuse to go hungry.

    The similarities:
    You still need to track.
You still need to exercise, and can earn BONUS ProPoints based on this activity.
You still need to follow the Good Health Guidelines (ie, 2 x fruit, 5 x vege, 2-4 x dairy, 1-2 x protein, grains and cereals at every meal, etc).

Thank you so much for taking the time to write an awesome reply misty!
I'm really enjoying this system!! I've had 3 serves of fruit today, when normally on WW I would have 0, as I never wanted to waste good points on fruit, pmsl!
    Day one is now complete!

However I am curious to see how much weight I lose this week, just generally curious about if Propoints really work... Seems a bit too good to be true

It definitely does work. I lost 7kg in 8 weeks on ProPoints (which unfortunately, I have put about4kg back on over christmas, whilst NOT counting). I am loving the fuit too. But as with any new food program, the first three weeks can be unpredictable - you may loose lots, or or may not: after that your body should settle into a pattern with an average of between 0.5 - 1kg a week.

Oh sweet! 7kg in 8 weeks is a nice steady loss! I've got my fingers crossed I can hopefully lose 1kg a week too. On old point system I could, if I was strict.
Its just really about will power hey?! I'm hearing on you the 4kg too. I've put on 5 over the christmas period alone too. Too many cherry ripe balls, haha!
Going to check out Leesa's fat chic slim programs, see if that can give me an extra booster too!

I don't have an iphone, but alot of my memners have got the iphone app and they rave about it: apparently it is pretty good. Wish they would create one for other mobiles.

Good on you TellyTubby - I joined in September (ww unlimited) and have lost - HAD - lost 10kg. A little has crept on over xmas, but I still fit into my clothes ok .

I've had a little break from ww for the past month. Too many birthdays and xmas parties to count in Dec, so rather than put myself through guilt city I've tried to be reasonably sensible whilst not counting points. Personally, I found the transition from Points to ProPoints very difficult. When the new system kicked in a few weeks ago, I found it all a bit "too hard", my dedication and motivation slipped and I really stopped tracking my points. Part of the reason why I had a break from it, though I'm still paying my monthly unlimited fees!! I vow to get back into the swing of things from my first meeting this year on Thursday! I'm hoping my few weeks' break will have been enough for me to forget about the old system, and get stuck into the new system.
Then I can lose the 2kg I've put on in December, drop another 2kg ... and I'll be at goal. Fingers crossed ...

Good luck TellyTubby - as a newcomer to ProPoints I would imagine you'd find it very straightforward and workable. And if this helps you at all, I BF 2 or 3 x daily and I've been told to include it in my daily points allowance, and then reduce my daily points allowance if it was needed (ie/ if I wasn't losing the weight as I should be). My daily allowance is currently 43. And not that it's probably worth mentioning, but I was on 28 points under the old system and I lost weight easily (I only had 10-12kg to lose).
