Thumbs up You loved In-Liven - Wait til you see this!

The most powerful anti-oxidant on the market, newly formulated and organic:

    BERRY RADICAL!

Berry Radical Antioxidant, contains a combination of 10 of the worlds most potent, antioxidant superfoods. Support healthy immune function and protect cells.

The ingredients in Berry Radical have been proven to assist the body in neutralising free radical damage. Free radicals can be produced within the body by natural biological processes or introduced from outside via tobacco smoke, toxins, pollutants and sub-optimal eating habits.

Free radicals are believed to accelerate the progression of cancer, cardiovascular disease, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue, and age-related diseases.

Tastes like chocolate as one of the 10 antioxidants comes from cocoa! Sounds good? Read more here.

Can Tracey Pop In A Comment

    Berry Radical....so here's the lowdown....or should I say longdown…

You often hear of the latest big thing like Goji juice, Mangosteen juice (Xango); Acai Berry etc - but these are usually composed of only one superfood - not a collection - and they are not organic.

Berry Radical is different because it contains not 1, but 10 certified organic superfoods.....maybe that makes it a super-superfood.....!!!!

It is also the ONLY certified organic anti-oxidant superfood on the market - no BS...this is it!

In it we have Goji Berry; Acai Berry; Blueberry; Raspberry; Strawberry; Pomegranate; Olive and Dunaliella Salina (marine algae); Raw Cacao (chocolate - more on this later) and Coffee Berry (not coffee beans so very little caffeine - a cup of coffee has 85mg caffeine, tea 40mg and berry radical 0.4mg....very little....)

As to what it does…..it is a free radical fighter……..it is an anti-oxidant….which means it helps to slow down damage to the body caused by free radicals…..it slows the aging process…….that’s for me….over forty now……all things anti-aging are in my best interest!!

Here is my explanation of anti-oxidants and free radicals. Think of an iron bar or a car left out in the weather for years……what happens???? They rust. This is caused by oxygen in the air – we need it to keep up alive but it also rusts us…..

It works like this. Every element/substance needs/wants to be stable. Every element has an atom in the middle (stay with me here…this will be a lot more fun than year 10 chemistry…) and electrons spinning about in circles. To be stable, the element needs to gain electrons (free radicals) or get rid of electrons (anti-oxidants). Normally, they like a partner – most elements don’t want to be alone……..unlike Greta Garbo…but I digress…

However, in nature, as in life, some elements end up being alone and they don’t want to be and I think they are kinda grumpy about it. There are some that are happy being on their own and are stable and and don’t cause damage so we will ignore them and concentrate on those unhappy single elements – especially the free radical ones that need electrons to be stable.

They could go off and partner with another element and share a few of their electrons to be happy. That would be the nice thing to do – find another willing element and share electrons but sometimes that must be too hard – or maybe it is like China where there are a lot of men and a few women so some elements just have to go out and rust something because they can’t find a suitable partner.

So these free radicals float around, we breathe them in and in order to be stable, they try and steal an electron or two from inside our bodies. They find a bit of tissue that is a little weaker and bully the weaker tissue into giving them an electron. Once the free radical gets its quota of electrons and it is stable, it floats off happily leaving the damage behind. And so we age…….

Now, enter Berry Radical……..this gets into your body and goes around looking for the areas that have been bullied and are now missing an electron or three and gives them some electrons reversing the damage. Now it can do this, because an anti-oxidant has a surplus of electrons and wants to get rid of a few so that it can get to a stable state.

So Berry Radical repairs the damage but it will also prevent it. It hangs about and when a free radical comes looking for something to bully, like a big brother it just gets between the free radical and the weaker tissue, hands over one of its surplus electrons and tells the free radical to beat it!

    Pretty neat really!

The measure of a product’s antioxidant capability is the ORAC scale – Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity. To get the equivalent ORAC units in one box of Berry Radical from other foods you would need

    5 kilos of blueberries
    8 kilos of raspberries
    or
    10 kilo of strawberries

I bought a punnet (organic) last week at $8 so 5kg would cost $400………..makes Berry Radical look cheap!!

And yes….it is chocolate flavoured….with a big berry taste too. But it isn’t sweet……neither is chocolate until you add milk and sugar…..I just whack it into my morning 30ml juice with my inliven and swig the lot….not the best taste but it is good for me!!

My favourite though is to make a mini hot chocolate. You are supposed to use 4 spoons of chocolate – so I use 1 and a half spoons and my packet of Berry Radical and half the milk for a great mini mid-morning treat – tastes good and does good….can’t beat that!

The other totally cool Berry Radical feature is that it is individually packaged in nitrogen flushed sachets to prevent the product from losing its potency and oxidizing before you take it. Like wine. If you opened a bottle of wine and drank 30mls a day….by the end of say, day 10, you would have vinegar….because it oxidizes…which is why there are those neat wine kits where you can put some plastic top on the wine and pump out the air to prevent the wine oxidizing…..doesn’t happen in my house – we just finish the bottle!

Narelle who put together Berry Radical is one switched on woman. Well she is a woman….we shouldn’t be surprised should we…..she has checked it out from all angles and made sure it gets to us in the best form.

Fighting free radicals these days is something we all need to do. With the toxic environment in which we live I believe we need to take care of ourselves as much as we can – much more than our parents did. They didn’t have as much pollution and other free radical causing products with which to deal.

    Tracey/Kelly,

Can I ask, once you have been on this for a few doses, how does it make you feel? Can you notice a difference in mood/sense of well being etc, or is it a product that does all its work on the inside?

Am I making any sense, LOL?

    Berry Buzz

I haven't noticed as much of a buzz as I got with inliven initially but I do notice on days when I don't take it. It is more of a preventative and healer than a nutritional product like inliven so both together make an awesome duo.

Okay here is the low down.

DO NOT!!!! DO NOT try this in hot water alone... even with artificial sweetner in it! I made such a mess of it. Anyways, I had this mug of bitter chocolately smelling stuff I could not swallow. I let it go cold and try it... BLURGH! I poured nudie juice in it and could scull it without gagging lol... so will be doing this with nudie juice too I think, when I do my InLiven Or as Tracey suggests, with a hot chocolate, that sounds good too.

Am currently drinking it okay with hot chocolate. Get a rich, chocolately hot chocolate and make a milk-based hot chocolate. You still may need to sweeten it. I had almost 2T Cadbury's drinking chocolate and 1 sachet of artifical sweetner in a big mug of milk with the berry radical. It's doable, I am really big on antioxidants so will push on!

    No one? Ok.
    Another question anyway.
I ended up getting the berry radical. I've been having it with hot chocolate. When I put it in I put a bit of hot water from the kettle in to disolve it first, then the milk, and heat it in the microwave. Is this ok, will putting really hot water on it damage the antioxidants at all?

I heat up the milk them pour it in

I put a bit of boiling water in the powder first to make it easier to mix in.

I'm having awful trouble with fatigue this preg, and am constantly craving bad food. Which would be better for me to take - fast track/in-liven or this berry one? I can't really afford to get both atm.

    Any advice/opinions welcome!
