An amazing book that got me through :)

    Hi everyone,
Im not a buddhist but I came across this book when I was really stressed with my 10 month old son "buddhism for mothers with lingering questions by Sarah Napthali". I so badly wanted to be a gentle, down to earth parent but still couldnt help letting the stress of day to day struggles get to me. Im sure you all know what a balancing act it can be. This book has shown me that its natural to feel frustrated and its nothing to be ashamed of but catching yourself out when you react badly starts building an awareness of so many things about yourself and over time you start to let the frustration just wash over you rather than letting it take a hold. This book has taught me that even if my house is a disaster area to still be able to sit down with my son and play with him. Live in the moment like him and even see the world a little through his eyes where a messy house isnt the end of the world. Once i have taken this time out I can get back to doing the essential things I have to do in a more content frame of mind. Hope it helps some of you guys too

    hi queenbee
I got mine from the bookshop borders. I think its a new release so it should be in most bookstores but you can also buy it on amazon

This is one of the best books i've read. I love it! I'm reading a lot about mindfulness at the moment. I ordered mine from Amazon after borrowing it from the local library and reading it, and deciding i need a copy constantly at hand.

Make sure you get "Buddhism for Mothers: A Calm Approach to Caring for Yourself and Your Children". It is the first book,

The second one is ""buddhism for mothers with lingering questions", and it is mainly for those with older questions.

The first one really covers the fundamentals.

Anyone up for doing a bookclub discussion on this book?

Just want to say - I read this thread, bought the book, and it is helping me so much! I am a Christian but OMG what a great book. She hits the nail right on the head, and already I am noticing I am able to be calmer, less anxious and more intentional.

    Great, thanks so much.

Yes of course! Just google it. Or look up Amazon. Good to support the Aussie economy really but amazon is the cheapest.
