Hi,
I was hoping someone out there might have a thought that could help us. Our guy can't fall asleep without the boob. We tried the Ferber method in his crib (bad) and he just screamed louder and louder, throwing himself again the rails. Now, he is back in our bed, but wakes at least 4 or 5 times and can't go back to sleep without the boob. Sometimes he'll go back for 5 minutes if I massage him, but it's not long. I'm so sleep deprived, I'm thinking about going to the guest room after the first feeding and letting my husband comfort him back to sleep for the rest of the night. I wonder if taking the boob out of the equation might help him to learn to sleep? Any thoughts? Thanks- Josie, NOrthern California
Hi Josie,
I had the same problem with my little man at the same age. Basically I just had to 'bite the bullet' and put him in his cot. I know its hard but it does take a few days to get them used to sleeping in there. Does he sleep in a cot for his day sleeps? Maybe you could try putting his cot in your room for a few weeks and get him used to sleeping in there first before you put him in another room?
I hope something works. Its so distressing I know .
