Im in real desperate need for a forward and rear facing buggy travelsystem i purchased a travel system from mothercare but do not get along with it at all and only used it like 4 times as my babys only 8 weeks old an due to me having a c section i wasn't out and about for a while with my little girl, have tryed taking the buggy back as i find that i just cant get along with it as only had it as the one i originally wanted wouldnt of fitted in our car but then what happens when my little girl is like 3-4 weeks old we get a new car which is bigger and could of had the buggy i really wanted as boot was bigger so now im having to suffer with a buggy i really dnt get on with at all and dissapointed mothercare will not exchange it for another and maybe pay dif ect so now im looking around for a new one and i really want a rear facing one so that my little girl could face me and be other way if need be... do any of you ladies out there have one??? or know where the best place is to find one as looked on ebay and typed in google and cannot find anything of that kind!! Im very desperate to get a new one and sell the one i got which is a atlan red and black lightweight travel system its very nice buggy and in great condition with all eccessories just not what i wanted and now i know we have the room for something id like more then i wanna get rid of one i have to get a new one and the rear facing ones seem such a good idea as there facing you coz with me being a new parent and all i get v paranoid layin her facing away from me as she just dnt seem to like it to long in her car seat likes to lay down so getting a rear facing one for when me and my partner go out n about would be great and use car seat just for the car! Really hope anyone can help me... and point me in the right direction
i have a valco jogger but didn't like her not facing me, so bought an emmaljunga off ebay for $50, and you can reverse the actual bassinet/pram to face either way (not the handle)...
it is SOOOOOOOOOOO much better being able to have her facing me, and also the pram has great suspension so its much better to get her to sleep in... i don't know how you would go getting it in and out of a car though, as it does seem quite large and cumbersome.... i just use mine for walks around our town, so haven't had to dismantle it for the car yet...
i definitely think the prams facing outwards is a fad and soon they will go back the old way of facing in, or at least the option of facing inwards... when our DD gets bigger and is a toddler then i think i will start to use the valco again....
We have a Britax Vigour - the carseat bit will only face Mummy, but when you put in the toddler seat it can face you or face out - what a great idea! I tried DS in a double buggy yesterday, he was facing out and I hated it! Facing Mummy is the way to go for sure.
We've just purchased a Quinny Buzz and although our bub isn't here yet to use it, I think it might suit your requirements. The package we purchased includes a Dreami Bassinette which you then switch over to the seat when bubs is old enough. With the Bassinette, you can only have it facing towards yourself, but when you attach the seat, you can have it facing you or outwards which I think is great. When the pram is fully collapsed, it is quite compact and should fit in the boot of most cars. I have some pics of our pram (only with the basinette attached though) on my website
I have a bugaboo. It can face both ways, bassinet, seat or just flip the handle over. They do sell a car seat that fits the bugaboo, but watch out they are not approved for use in australia
Thank you all for you replys! The only thing is i bet all these pushchairs are really expensive and with me not working but my partner is were a bit tight for a very expensive one... as i know some these days iv seen are like £400-£500 but i guess just gotta look around but im desperate for one now i really like the loola's anyone got one????? i just think they look nice and aren't too big and they face both ways and do lots of dif colours and excessories!
The Britax Vigour was about £350 from Mothercare, I bet you can find it cheaper though. If not, remember you can haggle the shops down, especially the non-chain stores, or take out a store card and get 10% off (remember to NEVER use it again and get rid of it once you've paid it off though). The Quinny was only a bit more expensive and would have been my first choice, but the Britax has the better carseat attached to it. If you can wait until January you can get about £100 off in Mothercare in the sales.
Hey - yes, quite a long sentence indeed!
I tend to agree with the vote for the Britax Vigour.. It's a real treat to use and is so versatile it's not funny. You can read a great review on it on this baby pushchairs blog which pretty much says it all. I think you will find this model to be the best as it's perfectly designed to be both forward and rearward facing, and also does so much more. It's a really good price in most shops too! -Best of luck in your search and getting the best price
