I just feed DD2 to sleep laying on the couch while DD1 plays around us or I'd have her sleep in the pram/car/carrier while out. We live next to a house being built so she has been pretty used to noise while falling asleep though lol.

Just thinking about the chucky thing, do you have a rocker seat he could sleep in for day naps?
What about settling in a sling if you're not going to feed to sleep in the day? He may find the motion/cuddle-like position conducive to sleeping. I could on occasions transfer my kids from soft sling to bed (though admittedly sometimes that didn't work).
