We had a little bumper between the bed and cot (firm foam) so she couldn't get out when she was little.
Did you use the foam because there was a height difference between the bed and the cot, or just because you wanted to keep her in the cot?

I think we still have the bedrails from DDs 1 and 2 so I'll have to dig them out. Thanks everyone
