Have a bit of a conundrum...

DD and I share a queen sized mattress on the floor. Night time sees her have a shower with either myself or DH, then a massage while we try off, dressed, cuddle and into bed. Feed to sleep or feed then fluff around, drifting off on her own or with me rubbing her back. Then off I sneak to do what ever. Then when I'm ready for bed, I just sneak in.

During that time she's in there on her own she will wake. The first time can be half an hour to an hour after putting her down, then on a good night it's every 3 hours there after. Normally when she wakes, she'll either just grunt to let me know she's awake, or if she's upset we get the wake up cry that always makes me jump - ie very 'instant'.

Last week when DH was listening out for her (usually when I shower), he commented that DD was at the door by the time she made her first noise. The bedroom door is shut until I go to bed. I assumed he just wasn't listening properly as he's playing computer games when it happens.

But last night, it happened to me. I was already on the way to the bedroom when I heard her stir. We hear everything through our baby monitor, so I know I hadn't missed anything, it was the first peep she made. I opened the door to find her right at my feet - thankfully I opened the door very slowly. She did a real loud cry, but it was more a fright cry than anything - I could see her little arms flutter like she just got a huge fright.

I immediately bent down, picked her up and she was straight back asleep again, head very heavy on my shoulder. She's obviously crawled off the mattress, across the floor (about 3 feet) and then when she couldn't get past the closed door, gotten upset.

By the time I was lying down in bed, she was fast asleep. It was like she wasn't even really awake to begin with.

What do I do?

We can't leave the door open because of the way the house is laid out, the light will get in. Not to mention she wakes with noise as it is, we'd have to tip toe around the house. Any other ideas?
