I have a 13 month old and we are stressing about when we should wean her off the teats for when she drinks her milk. We are concerned that the teat might me damaging her teeth growth. She appears to have a very wide gap in her 2 front teeth that are coming through.
What type of teats are suitable for a 13 month old?
they suggest u wean them off as soon as they get teeth which is easier said then done...try and alteritive...like a cup etc i just bought my 20mth old a cup that as a teat like feel...as we r trying to wean him off bottles
Yes, it's recommended to stop using bottles around the 12 months mark, so I would switch to a sippy cup or straw cup. Both are much better for the teeth, although you still shouldn't let them fall asleep while drinking it as the liquid can pool in their mouths and cause tooth decay.
Thanks for your useful responses. I am just worried she won't get sufficient milk/ calcium intake using the cups. I find it quite hard to get her to sit down and drink a cup of milk, at the moment, she only takes a sip now and then.
