YAY! Well, almost full-time, she has her first little bit of sleep in the cot at the end of our bed, then when she wakes (about 10pm) she's in with us.
It started with me sneaking her into bed to feed and leaving her with us, and Shel said something like "why is she always in our bed?" which made me think she didn't want her to be with us so I started putting her back in the cot. After two nights Shel says to me "why isn't Jazzy with us anymore" so I told her I thought she didn't want her iwht us, and Shel said that she likes having her close. Plus she pointed out that we ALL sleep better with her in with us.
So we've got our princess in with us again. She spent the first 6 weeks in our bed, then moved her out. Now shes back in, and we all sleep so much better. Nothing beats baby snuggles (though I could do without the hickies she's leaving on my boobs when she goes in for the midnight snack and misses her target LOL). And I actually sleep better when shes next to me, I feel more secure, knowing shes safe next to me, I was always waking up and checking on her when she was in the cot (yes, a whole 2m away, but still, it seems like a lot longer when you're lying there waiting to hear a breath.
So YAY I just wanted to post a YAY to us co-sleep (and Shel finally realising that I sleep better with her next to me, and I am MUCH nicer when I've had a good nights sleep). LOL!

YAY honey!!! I miss co sleeping with Mateauz..he gets to excited now adays but I still have VY sneak in at 4 am in the morning and get plenty of mummy and daughter cuddles then.
Im so jealous of you guys...ah its gorgeous and so heart warming!
I know what you mean about feeling better with her next to you Leasha, I would have a horrible night if Matisse wasnt next to me!
DH has slept on the lounge most of the time as he is scared of rolling onto her, sooner or later he will feel better... i'll keep her on my side anyway!!
Yay Leash!
DH was too scared to have Muffin in bed with us at the beginning, but now he can't go to sleep unless she is touching him with her arm. So, consequently, she goes to sleep in the middle!
At the moment though, I am trying to get her to stop wriggling so much! She gets out of her wrap and OMG is she a worm!!!!!!!!!!!
DS was about 3 months old when I started sleeping with him on my side after being between us and it has worked out well for all of us
In September DS got a mattress for the bed in his room (till that point it was a collecting room where we changed him and kept his toys and clothes!) and he took to it far more readily than I was prepared for. He's only spent one or two entire nights in there by himself and he'll make his way into me every night. I also recently used nighttime-ECing as an excuse to sleep in his bed, just us
He feeds through the night still and it's nice to be needed, two and half years later, in such an intimate way. One of the really nice things is co-sleeping for long enough to realise that their feet reach your knees when sleeping next to you, when you remember cradling them in your curled up legs with their feet resting on your soft belly! And now he likes to roll over after a feed so that I can spoon him into me, whilst DP spoons me....delicious!
Enjoy this time - it sets children up emotionally for life
co-sleeping is awesome. hubby has moved into what we had planned to be the nursery (now we call it the bachelor pad) and liberty and i are in the "princess room" snuggled up every night on our queen sized bed. i love smelling her hair and now she's bigger i can put her on the boob and fall asleep again. i also hide dummies under my pillow in case i need them in the middle of the night so i don't have to get up out of bed!! she sleeps in her cot in the daytime though and sometimes at the start of the night.
We're another co-sleeping family. 2.5 yo DS comes into our bed at about 4/5 am most mornings and ends the night next to me. He starts in his own bed which is how he has mostly always done it, quite happily and then chooses when or if he needs to come to us. I admit that I need at least a few hours of being able to sleep deeply and spread out but after about 3am i'm happy to be more accommodating I agree... it's IS so much easier to co-sleep in the early days than worrying about SIDS etc. and getting up to check breathing etc. And especially when you need to feed throughout the night.
woo hoo Leasha!!! CONGRATS!!!! wish i was still co-sleeping i was just getting shiat sleep with Jack in our bed... so i have now taken one of the sides off the cot and it is right next to my side of the bed...close enough (arms reach)
Awww, this thread is so sweet....DS has been in his cot during the night (although still waking frequently) for the last couple months. I am looking forward to him waking tonight so i can bring him into bed with me after reading these beautiful posts....has me all gooey inside, LOL.
DS goes to bed in his cot, but when he wakes its in bed with us, and we rotate from in the middle to on my side depending which boobie he wants!! I love the snuggles too!! So sweet, and yes we have done the triple spoon too!!! lol Its great!!
I was getting a tad worried that maybe i should be trying to get him to go back to sleep in his cot, but after reading all these happy warm fuzzy stories, i say bugger it, we are happy!!
Also he seems to sleep better during the day if i put him in our bed, (lol with a pillow barrier on all edges of the bed!!) i guess its just got our smells in there and he feels comfy!! What ever works best i say!! also i think he likes the soft bed rather than the hard matress in his cot!
