Hoobley, you got me thinking about an interview I heard on the radio recently about a guy who was really really badly burnt in an accident and needed 3 years of treatment in hospital (skin grafts etc). Did you know there's no absolutely no evidence to suggest that wearing those pressure suits that burn victims have to wear (you know, the skin coloured ones) help with healing or prevent scarring? NONE! And yet it's a painful, hot experience for the poor patient who has so many other painful experiences to go through anyway.
I think there are a lot of things that happen just because that's what's been the norm before... which makes it so important to question. Sorry that's not exactly what you were talking about but even though it's not related to pregnancy I thought it was relevant!
