If you can't sew then food is probably the best thing packaged in gorgeous glassware that can be reused as vases or glasses maybe??
Such awesome ideas ladies!!
No, sadly i cant sew to save my life but you have all given me something to brainstorm over!!
OK, so am thinking of doing a gift basket for everyone (there will only be about 6-8) and having the same things in them all (except maybe something a little more personal in each one) Yes, am thinkiing of making truffles for each one.. and also doing a scented oils and/or bath salts.. do you make these yourself? and if so where would i look for recipes?
ill probably put some brought things in the baskets too to fill them up.. useful/different things you wouldnt normally get yourself.. but i thought putting some homemade things in there would make it a little more personal.. coz im done just going out and buying someone a present for the sake of it coz i have to.. i want my babies to grow up knowiong its not like that.. christmas is about eating, drinking and being merry with family and loved ones.. the presents are just a bonus
Last year I bought some cheap glass water bottles and got some glass pens from spotlight. I then googled words for water (eg Aqua, wai, H2O etc) and got my kids to write all the different words on the front of the bottles in the different colours before I baked them. I also gave two glasses with each bottle that had their names on them.
They looked really effective, cost buggar all but a little bit of time and we got loads of compliments about our useful gifts.
I have also done fudge, chocolate balls, shortbread and rocky road all met with appreciation.
This year I am planning on doing redskin vodka for everyone. I have just had a weekend away with the girls drinking this so I can definitely vouch for its yumminess.
FM.. i REALLY like the glass idea.. i think i may have to do this
yes have heard redskin vodka is very yummy.. sadly im like the only proper drinker in the family lol!! Id have to go hard on christmas day on my own
