Suggestions please?

Hi everyone,

I am starting to do some christmas shopping and I need some ideas...

I got my neice and nephew a lovely felt Christmas Bucket and am going to fill it with goodies...I just need some suggestions.

I have already purchased:

• Playdough
• Rainbow lollypop
• bubble wand

And am now stuck

The little girl is 2 and the Boy is 5.

Any suggestions?

Little girls I can help with what about hair ties, clips, head bands. We go through so many they always come in handy. Bangles, little flutes/whistles. A drink bottle. You can get little books.

I struggle with boy gifts so can't help there.

What about groovie textas, pencils etc for the boy? Stickers, stamps etc?

Thanks for the suggestions girls! It's hard to get creative sometimes! I was going to individally wrap each present so it was more exciting they love unwrapping at their age!

5? our boys love making stuff so a bundle of art stuff would be cool.
They also love drawing- crayola do window pens(for drawing on windows) finger paints, chalk (for drive way drawing)

Yes he will be....it might actually be a good idea to get him some school stuff and craft items. I have never seen him doing anything creative. Never seen him colour in, sit down with a book, paint a picture.....kind of sad really. On a different note he gets no attention at home so maybe if I did get him some crafty things I could make something with him?

My son has only just started wanting to colour, he's 5. But this time last year, he wouldn't have wanted colouring books etc - and I did buy them for him, just in case (I now have small ones for my handbag when we go out, so it does work out). And I suppose the "no attention" criticism could be levelled at me, as when family members I don't see often visit I priorise them over Liebling, who can cope without my attention for an hour or so - or longer, if I put on a film.

Books for any child of any age are always the best present. This maxim works for adults too. You can't beat a good book. Unless it's with lego, then it's a close-run contest and I need to see the photo finish. Liebling also likes cars, angry birds, any sort of building material (lego, wooden blocks, clicks, sticklebricks etc), photo albums, superheroes and board games such as snakes and ladders, jigsaws... travel-sized games are really useful and are fairly small sized.

Yeah Chody it is very sad. My SIL and BIL work 18 hour days. He spends most of his time with a day care mum he gets attention from her but virtually none at home, which has made him withdraw from family. Sad but DH and I have taken the "none of our business" approach. In the past we have tried to get SIL and BIL to slow down but it hasn't worked so we just let things be.

Thanks for your perpective The Flying Butter, I know most kids prefer something like a car or lego to a book or colouring but I think particularly because he will be starting school an activity like colouring might assist him to sit and be still and to focus and use his imagination....maybe! LOL he is a boy!
