i'm a bit the same! love the lego stuff - the other stuff i have to be in the right mood but lego i can rustle up the energy almost any time
DH and I had a talk - there is possibly a bit much lego coming at christmas ( i asked mum to layby maybe 8 sets - there is 18 on layby!) so Santa is bringing us Lego too - will also (hopefully) stop the "my lego" stuff from DD and remind her it's "ours" so she doesn't start getting possessive
her boy cousin is getting lego from us, as is her little friend (who also got a star wars lego set today for his bday - and we used it for his cake topper lol) - we are talking about what the girl cousins will get - wouldn't be surprised if she decides it's going to be lego for them too!\
oh, and as much as i wouldn't mind sharing my DH and his no limits things - there is no way in hell i could deal with your DP and his grouchy "they don't need more" attitude lol
My DH would probably just look at me like I was crazy but then think "whatever makes her happy" and let me go do my thing. Probably much the same as when he's talking about golf, football or cricket lol! That's where he is now, annual weekend away with his golf club. They go to the casino, racecourse, *insert other manly activity* for two nights, then play golf on Sunday. So I'm allowed to be a nerdy weirdo on occasions lol.
PS I don't think this is the right forum for discussing husband swapping
DISCLAIMER: Any partner swapping discussed previously or from here on within this thread is ENTIRELY related to ensuring we each have someone who will enable us in our lego purchases...
I'm tempted to get the non-christmas themed creator houses out and build them - but i want to get christmas decos out too!
Hanging to see if Lego end up sending the decorations that the local guy asked for. He has ordered them, but is at the whim of Lego distribution as to whether he gets what he wants - apparently Toys R Us (US) is one of the biggest buyers/sellers - so distribution tends to keep them happy, and small shops get whatever they deem to be the excess kwim?
The joys of living in a world of mega-conglomerates hey Sucks for the little guy . Hope he gets his order! Do you know if there are pics online of the upcoming releases? I tried google but only found the titles, not pics.
I may have just spent an hour on youtube looking at lego friends stuff don't tell DH! Have now seen stephanies surprise party & the one with the dolphin cruiser
i haven't seen the dolphin cruiser one - i'd rather wait til we get the dvd - then i won't have dd sitting on top of me while we watch (she gets her boof head in the way of the laptop screen lol)
there are pics of a couple of sets (newborn lamb, ummmm one with a dolphin in it) but most haven't been released on the net yet (i googled after seeing it on thursday to see if i could find pics to share!)
ETA google "lego friends 2014) and look at google images. there are a few of them available on there with the packaging more so than close pics of the products. pretty sure i just caught a pic of the ranch
i think you pinned something like that didn't you zf? or maybe i found it somewhere when i was googling party ideas - it's a great idea (although the one i seen used a marble rather than a lego ball)
We are bring subjected to another round of Stephanies surprise party - and more lego stuff. I really want to get decorating for Christmas but i feel almost overwhelmed by it - so i'm letting E distract me with lego!
I've been waiting for the holidays to suggest the maze one. DD1 would get right into it think. I've also just pinned a heap of lego challenges for them. Might print them off and stick them up at night for them to find in the morning.
Funny thing is, friends of the kids also love the lego challenges and when they are here, they hound me for different ones, but when they're at home with thier lego, they only make the sets that they came with.
Because there's nothing really locally, I've had to order all my lego for christmas. Was thinking about it all last night, and think I might have gone overboard. They're each getting 4-5 little mini sets/kits in their stockings and then DD's friends stuff, and then DD2's duplo trains and alphabets and then DS....oh my....I just got them when I could, but I think I'll have to put lots away for his birthday in Feb. Hopefully it arrives when DH is at work
Hmmm I need to sort x-mas soon... Then think of DD2's birthday... It's hard when the girls want the BIG stuff at like $100 each, otherwise I would be loading up
I was watching some current friends sets (as in still available in store) on ebay and they went for more than what you could buy them for in Big W! Crazy!
I may have introduced my mum to the joys of Friends over the weekend lol. I reckon DD might be getting some of that in the near future *insert evil laugh*. I also let DD watch Stephanies surprise party on Mum's Ipad and it was a hit! At the end she asked to watch it again lol. Bless her!
