I have seen some great half sleeves on woman and I have seen terrible ones.
They can look elegant it depends on the content.
I have two quite large ones, a rearing unicorn and waterfall which is on my right shoulder blade and takes up about quarter of my back and the other is a forest warrior faerie who wraps around my left breast, her wing in on my boob and her feet are under...following her is faerie dust with the first initial of all my 7 kids (man that hurt on the ribs and the solar plexus)...I would like to eventually join them up around my ribs and back.
I am not game enough to get sleeves done but do think if done properly they can look great

I have an almost quarter sleeve (in that it comes to the traditional quarter sleeve length on my upper arm, but there is none on the underside of my arm). I think it looks amazing personally, but I do get a few odd looks. Totally worth it though, and I can cover it completely with my work uniform which was important to me.
Trav - your quarter sleeve is stunning!!!!!!!

My younger cousins have numerous tattoos, on one they look amazing & elegant and suit her, on the other they look a bit trashy. Funny thing is it is pretty much to do with their colouring, the one who looks amazing has incredible olive skin and she's picked tattoos that compliment both her and her colouring.

I have an x-acquaintance who has full sleeves done and they look tacky, but then again she looks feral and they sort of suit the type of person she is.

I had a "friend" say to me a week ago that he didn't like the fact that I had tattoos, well my response was that it had nothing to do with him whether or not I had tattoos or if I got any more.
