I am so excited about christmas after reading this thread and thinking about what we are going to be doing. Hopefully we'll have an early christmas celebration with DP's family in Russia (their christmas is actually after ours in the new year) then back here in time for christmas at my sister's place at the beach in central queensland. I am super excited as it's DD's first christmas, we will see snow in Russia (I've never seen snow IRL) and my parents go all out and decorate the inside of the house and outside with 1000's of lights. Mum has a collection of santas and heaps of inside decorations and they have won the lights competition in their town a few times. DD is gonna love it! Oh and rum balls, can't forget our secret recipe delicious rum balls.
ff that sounds so cool, im a bit hrmm as i dont know whats happening i guess christmas will be my pregnancy safe zone for us so i think it could be a double celerbration. I am so dreading putting my tree up for christmas as its SOO HUGE. Looks good in end but to big sometimes when ur doing most of the work. Might cut the decorations down by half this year as we have hundreds as ill be around 25 weeks preggers.
im so excited about chrissy.
being due on the 25th is fun.
we are doing it at our house and we are doing bring a plate and i will sort out the main roast or ham and salads.
DD will be 28 months so will have a better understanding
and i love our tree
we have a black tree lol which we decorate with green pink and white the kids chose a colour each so next year a new colour will be added for our new baby
Funkeefrog your DD will love getting to celebrate two Christmases - my family is Russian so we always had Christmas on 7 January as well (you get to leave the tree up for AGES!)
I am planning my Christmas quite extensively (yes I am a Chrissy tragic LOL) I am planning my menu, have organised place mats, bought new glasses, worked out what decorations will go where and I have been "prepping" my 3 year old all year so he won't be scared to sit on Santa's knee (dunno bout the 20 month old though - I do expect there will be tears!)
I was talking to my mum today and she said that she is going to make DD a christmas dress! She used to make me and my sister a christmas dress every year and they were so cute. DD is going to look gorgeous in frills and bows and christmas themed material
DD has three Christmas cloth nappies. two of them have matching singlets. i'm thinking of getting something spesh for some Christmas photos - but given how pukey she is, i'm not thinking of anything too fancy - maybe i need some purddy Christmas bibs lol
ordered the stuff i want Candle wise - well, holder wise - still lots of candles to get - can't go past chocolate mint candles - kinda like candy cane fudge i imagine - smell DIVINE.
i today went to priceline and got 3x 5meter roll of christmas paper warp for 2 dollars i picked gold so i could use it for birthdays too and ive started making decorations all cheap type things.
we will be putting tree up next fortnight i believe
I was bad today I bought two Christmas tree ornaments for my mantlepiece (they were 50% off, but still I paid a bit for them!) and a gorgeous satin bauble garland for my kitchen.
Then I was good and bought a candle holder and set of reindeer antlers for Flynn from the op shop!
I have bought all my kids christmas presents (and quite a few birthday pressies as well) though I still need to get a book for one girl in my mothers' group.
Squidipa like yo I found some bargain Christmas wrap too!!
I've picked out what I am buying my parents and bought my BIL/SIL's present. And I found mum's mothers' day present.
I'm doing the Houseworks Holiday Plan (google it if interested) so I am feeling really up to date - I am about to start writing and adressing my Chirstmas cards!!
