    Christmas Trees! Fake vs Real!

So.... carrying on from the Christmas Tree colour scheme thread I am wondering who has real Chrissy Trees and who has fake ones?!

We have a fake one we have had for years. At home we always had real ones though, this year however I had decided I want a real one!

    So tell me.....

We have a 6 foot fake one. Growing up we always had a real one and I really love the smell of them. But I'm too afraid of all the huntsman spiders that I'm positive are hiding in them to get a real one now!

Definitely real. My Mum bought a fake one couple years ago-it's just not the same. Where i live now, we can even do midnight missions to get one from along the trainline.

When I was a kid it was always real, there's nothing that smells so much like Christmas

DH isn't keen, expensive & messy etc but I think one year we might discuss this further....

I love love love real ones!! I could never go plastic. It just wouldn't be the same. Saying that I only buy christmas trees when I live in Europe. I never get one in Australia, as the "real" trees aren't the right kind! They are all floppy and weird. In Europe we use the kind of pine trees that all the fake ones are modelled after. But I guess they can't grow in the heat here. So basically I can't have a tree at all. Unless someone knows where I can get one from?

Ohhh ohhhhhhhh i want a midnight mission

We have FAKE, it's easier with the girls and less mess, when they are older i will be trading it in and buying real.. maybe i can plant one and watch it grow as they do

You all have me running scared from the creepy crawlies now I think I was in denial and had my head buried in the sand!!

So instead I bought a gorgeous new fake tree!! I got it from Target and they had 40% off!! So I was super excited! It is about 183cm and gorgeous!! I have just fluffed it all up and it's looking pretty special! We usually wait until December 1, to decorate it but I think I am too excited and will do it tomorrow when DH is home!!

we had a real one the first year DH and I did christmas together and it was a horrible tree, apparently 'normal' trees in qld are hard to come by and this thing we had was basically three trees of different sizes tied together to try and fill the big gaps between the brances, so the next year we bought a fakie, its lovely and big and fluffy and doesnt make a mess, never thought id have a fake one casue the real trees in the uk are so awesome and the smell that fills the house is one of my fav things about chrissy!

DH won't let me have a real one as they are apparently quite a bad fire hazard.

Fake one here, it was $9 from coles last christmas eve and breaks my heart every time i think about how crappola it really is! I don't know why i listen to DF sometimes, its not christmas without a nice tree! I am wondering if i can be sneaky and replace it with a really nice one without him noticing this year.

i've had real in the past but have a fake one now. i love the smell of real ones. it just makes everything more christmassy. our fake one was meant to be a filler for a couple of years (nice but not very big)...hopefully we'll get a bigger one when DS is a little older. i'm not sure how it'll survive this year...i might have to glue the decorations on with a curious toddler on the loose!

We always had real ones chopped down at the Christmas Tree Farm but for the last three Christmas' we've had a fake one because the mess was getting to me. It looks pretty real & the cool part about ours is that it already has the lights attached so I can just plug it all in without worrying about untangling lights & getting them positioned nicely.
