I remember from my youth the Easter hats, making one out of strong paper and decorating.
    Painting eggs.
You could cut out bunny shapes to color.

we're going to decorate baskets for collecting eggs!

other ideas- you could draw an egg on an a4 piece of paper, then cut up coloured paper (into squares and stripes) and paste to decorate the egg.

easter hats (pieces of carboard stapled into a circle for the hat) decorate it with paper, feathers, cotton balls.

draw/print a rabbit and decorate by glueing cotton balls on it (we did this with a sheep last year on a large piece of carboard, it was a big hit!)

write letters/draw pictures for the easter bunny.
easter cards for family (you could use the above ideas on a smaller scale)

Easter baking! Not craft but fun if you and your DD's like to bake. Check out the taste website (search for 'easter' and heaps of yummy recipes come up)

I'm going to bake some things with DD and then put them into baskets which I'll get her to decorate as gifts to her grandparents.

When we were in school we used to draw patterns on a boiled egg with a candle then we would either paint on some food dye or dip them into a bowl with food dye in.

Boiled eggs can last about 5 days or so provided there are no cracks in the egg shell although they don't last long in my house.

I hard boil the eggs, then let them draw patterns with crayon then submerge them in food dye. Looks awesome and they last until you make egg salad sangas - yum!

Easter baskets (we made them at playgroup yesterday)
Cut the bottom off a milk carton & use a pipecleaner for a handle. Decorate with stickers, etc

    Easter masks/ bunny ears

cut out egg shapes out of cardboard & decorate

    Easter Bonnets/hats

Chocolate making (melting chocolate & put into moulds) all be it I don't think much chocolate would make it to the moulds

Easter colouring sheets (plenty of free ones on the internet)

If you google Easter crafts for kids it comes up with heaps of stuff

Bumping this up again because I want to do some crafts today! It is bucketing down in Melbourne with no sign of it easing for a few days.
Anyone have any other ideas for super dooper Easter crafts?? If I head to the shops I might do the Arrowroots as well next week.

ETA: As always when I read an old thread my heart skipped a beat of sadness seeing Lu's posts. I remember reading this thread last year and doing the crayon eggs like she suggested.

    Tan I understand...

We have made sugar biscuits in the shape of easter eggs yesterday and today are decorating them, we also have some felt and the glue gun and some wool and a thick needle to make some felt "easter bags" for the girls next week.... We painted egg shaped cardboard eggs and put a hole in the top and made a "banner" of sorts for the girls room as well this weekend. TBH we're getting over the easter crafts but thats okay, next week we will make our dairy free easter eggs and go from there. HTH

I love the idea of easter baking and decorating arrowroot biscuits.

I was thinking of a bunny picture using cotton wool or making some easter bunting by sewing together a line of easter cut outs and stringing them across the room.

Otherwise, check out this for some great easter at home craft.

    (Tanstar, same here. )

I like the idea of a banner - might cut out a bunch of eggs for them to paint and make a bunting of sorts as well. Just got some cotton balls at the shops too. Off to look at that link jackrose thanks.
