Mothers Day 2012 - What are your plans?

So, I am sitting here wondering what the family can do for Mothers day this year.

Usually it is just going out for breakfast, if we can be bothered, and then hubby takes photos of me with Miss H...but this year...it will be photos of me with both Miss H and Miss Z!

The photo thing is a given.

But, was wondering what others get up to for Mums day.

What are your plans?

Does anyone have any ideas for Mums Day down in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne?

this will be our first mums day down here....so interested in suggestions!

I'm in the East as well, in the past we have gone out to Caldermeade Farm (bit of a drive though!) Cranbourne Australian garden, or just at home!

This year I am doing the 8km walk for the Mothers Day classic with girls from my MG! Will finish up with a special brekky in the city I think!

This year is my first mothers day with a living child.

I think I'm going to my Mums, then going home to rest, was thinking about taking Amelia to the beach to release some baloons... then dinner at my ILs place.

We dont do very much - usually visit my mum & dp's mum. Normally we would take lunch to one and maybe get takeaway with the other for dinner. Im not sure this year though - probably much the same!

Mother's Day falls on MIL's birthday this year so I imagine there will be something for her in the afternoon/early evening. I'll be 38 weeks by then so certainly won't be doing anything like an 8km walk! Our local bar/bistro is fantastic - Sunday mornings they do a free kids club with face painting, games, drawing etc set up at one end of the restaurant so mums and dads can sit and enjoy a leisurely breakfast while the kids run back and forth between the fun and breakfast themselves. The girls love it, so we might do something like that with some friends.

We will be in NZ this year for a family reunion and my mum and grandma will also be there. Will be a pretty special Mother's Day...the night before we are staying with around 30 relatives at a "Lodge" that we have booked out for all the family so am sure we will all have a big breakfast together. Then we will be in the campervan with the kids and heading to Wellington for the evening.

Usually though we don't really do much as the kids and DH play soccer on Sunday mornings and quite often our football team, Freo Dockers, have a home game which DH, DD1 and the rest of DH's family go to as they are all members. I tend to go in the arvo to visit my mum/nana while they are all at the football.

Can someone add the date to this thread for those of us that never seem to know these things :-) soon will be becoming an Aussie citizen so had better get used to it being in May.

Probably do what i do every sunday. housework run around after child and cat and be expected to do everything.

It will be a miracle if he remembers to do anything for me

Unless i really hint i want something. But ive told him what i get on mothers day is what he gets too so if its nothing he gets nothing for fathers day.
