Not sure. Probably go out to breakfast, enjoy the day. DH has surprises for me but I'm not sure what.

Hallmark holiday - ignore it and hope it will go away.
One thing I don't like about it is coming on BB and seeing post after post by hardworking, loving mums genuinely upset that the day didn't get recognised as they had hoped.
But that's between the loving mum and their loving family
I'll probably have breakfast in bed, then do something with Lulu's mum and kids, it's really hard for them on Mother's Day. It's not always a hallmark holiday.
Yep, but it's sad that the expectation of one member of the family, doesn't match the reality...
Then change the expectation. That's a perception.
Every mothers day my kids hug me, the bring me the things they made at school. My husband will make me breakfast in bed we normally all stay in bed and snuggle for a bit. I'm not expecting Gifts a plenty... I'm not expecting anything. Affection and appreciation is all I expect. And TBH if I didn't get that well then I wouldn't be with my husband. My point is, if it's not important to you it shouldn't matter what others do. If it is important to you and you do not get the holiday you think you deserve then that is up to you to sort out with your partner and your children.
It's only a hallmark holiday if you make it one.
And for some it's a reminder of what they don't have.
hmmm now that I think about it, maybe I will take my step-mum out for pancakes - I love pancakes hehe
