I'm going to stick my neck out here and say I don't get it.
If your DF can't find anything worth $750 why does he have to spend that much? I don't understand shopping just for the sake of shopping. Why not just find each other the perfect gift and save the change for a rainy day/house deposit/staying home when baby arrives fund?
I think it's the thought that counts not the sum spent.
my DF is a HORRIBLE saver. he's a shoppaholic.... he has his mind set that we have that much for xmas pressies so he won't save it etc
