how much are you spending on your DF for xmas?

I'm giving my DH the rest of the money he needs towards his next planned tattoo. I don't think it'll be over $200, more likely $100.

We normally spend about $1000 on each other at Xmas but this year I think it will be more like $200 each. We have just bought another house and bub might be here before Xmas at this rate so there isn't really anything I want.

We aren't big spenders for Christmas and DH's birthday is the next week anyway. We probably spend about $50 on each other on average. This year I'm getting something really special and so it is a lot more for my present but DH is still only getting a nice book from me.

I really don't think that it is how much you spend.

Some years we buy big, other years not. This year is a not a big spend year, as there is nothing that we really want/need

I'll be lucky to get anything.

I think I have spent just over $100. My limit is generally $100 and he'd normally get it as $$$ but this year I have done presents. He is an amateur astronomer so I went onto EBay and got him a Hot Wheels Mars curiosity rover, and a space shuttle with some astronaut.

He also loves the De-Havilland Vampire plane, and our dog had an attempt and chewing his hat the other week. So I got him a DVD on how to fly that plane, a new hat, and a hat pin.

I spent just over $200 on DP alone this Xmas. I wasn't planning on spending that much but he needs a GPS for work and we can use it as a tax deduction next year
Not sure what he's spending on me... Hopefully not too much.

We never really have a limit or budget, the beauty of being DINKs I suppose.

We are also moving house 5 days before Xmas so have not really brought much this year for DH, just a few little things, was super organised with packing so put them in a box somewhere and now I can't remember which one.

Maybe he will have to do his share of unpacking to find them

wow!! the things we could buy with that limit! have fun with it =) hope you get something really pretty =)

I spent $100 on DH. and that was too much...based on our finaces and how much we actually rate xmas. for us bdays are the time to really spoil someone. xmas pressies are normally just a token.

i don't really have a need for anything this xmas... i do really want a new bed/side tables/tallboy. i think i might save my money. DF doesn't realise how tight money will be in Feb next year with no job for me

Maybe you should tell him to save his money too

You being out of work and him being a shoppaholic probably means you should save every penny you can???

Why not ask him to buy the bedside table/tall boy for you for Christmas?

We spend a fair bit on each other for Christmas and birthdays, but then we don't buy much during the year (particularly DH) so the things we get are stuff that we've had our eye on for a while. I'm getting him a chess set (fancy wooden one with hand carved pieces) that was almost $500. But he's been talking about it all year and DD is going to be as excited as him when she sees it.

DP is getting a $20 present that he will love more than the trimmer he also wants. It's a picture book I've made with photos of the girls and he this year, set to a story.

Not sure how much the trimmer is, but he generally gets and prefers something he needs, so the $$ is not important.

$750 that'll be some gift! If I had a DH I wouldn't want an expensive present......

Ex bought me a KA food processor a couple of years ago, and some other things, easily up toward the $750 mark. I spent a similar amount on tools and things for him.
I spent that much on the rest of Christmas easily!

I really don't think it is that out there to spend that much if you can afford to do so. And if you can, well, enjoy it while you can, it may not last forever. Live your life while the going is good, I say.

All up just over $200. However because we aren't particularly well off that's going to be Christmas, birthday and valentines day all rolled into one. He just doesn't know it yet . I think he will be tickled pink with the amount of thought that went into it though .
