We have a 7:30 am flight on NY day plus I'm up the duff so this year we are eschewing all parties, including hosting one.

The 'big smoke' near us is having a big festival family thing, free rides and entertainment and fireworks etc... It is half hr drive from us, and we get all excited and keen to go, but come this evening when Spock is normally winding down we will probably shrug it off and can't be bothered...and will be a normal night except staying up late. Which sucks, cause I like it to stand out and be different. Will have to think of something for dh and I to do just us at home...hmmm

tWe're doing nothing, but that's not actually because of the kids. Our friends and family are spread so far out, they're all doing something different and really most of them are just too far for us. Many won't be child-friendly either. We could do something here, but as everyone is a good distance away there's a good chance no one would come.

I'm not too upset about it though, DS had me up every 1-2 hours last night so I'd be useless at a party tonight.

We are now going to a friend's house, who also has small kids, to have a BBQ. We will hang out, have some champers, have some dinner and go home when the kids crack it. It won't be midnight. But that's ok. We will at least have some sort of celebration with some of our friends, so that's good

Haven't done anything for new year's in years and staying up past 9pm is a big night here
We're on antibiotics so can't drink. In quarantine so couldn't go out if we wanted to, and anyway the smallest one is in a leg cast. Hip hip hooray! We will stay home, watch a spot of telly and then go to bed.
