We will get up and open presents with the girls and my Dad, who has just told me he's coming to stay with us, then I'll make breakfast, our new tradition of Canadian pancakes and maple syrup. Lunch will be us, my dad and my FIL, haven't decided what I'm making yet and dinner will be a picnic with just the four of us. Boxing Day we'll do DH's family lunch, but DH is working so it'll just be the three of us.
No idea yet, depends on weather - no family here so we do as we please - so far have had a BBQ at a park or a beach followed by coffee and cake on Acland Street every year have been here (the idea of going out and about and cafe's being open on Christmas day is such a novelty). I don't think about food till Christmas Eve, so is all very relaxed - I am a convert to warm Christmasses. The day will start and end with video calls to family in the UK I expect.
We do Christmas Eve so the 24th will be a big family lunch with about 20 of us, then to my cousin's place in the afternoon for presents and sweets.
Christmas morning wil be just us then my mum and aunty will come over and we will spend the day at the beach (or shade as the forecast for where we will be is 36 degrees!! Eeek!)
Monday the 19th having my parents and grandparents over for nibbles and then going for a walk around to see the local lights, then doing the same thing Friday with friends
Christma Eve- relaxing and watching carols on TV with nibbles and puttting snacks out for santa and the reindeer
Christmas -Staying at home for the first time ever we are not stepping out the front door
There will be 11 for lunch the 4 of us PIL, BIL and his partner, Niece, My dad and step mum (who will be staying with us from the 23rd to the 29th). Roast turkey, cold slice leg ham, and roast beef in the weber. Roast spuds, chef salad, Roast mixed veg with feta and bacon. Then Trifle, Christmas pudding and Pav for desert! We shall have left overs for a month. Then DH's aunt and uncle, my mum and Step dad, brother and girfriend, and Sister and BIL will come in the arvo and have left overs for dinner. I am really looking forward to it
